So I've just been looking at my antenatal appointments I've got 1 in January when I'm 16 weeks then my 20 week scan 1st week of February and then nothing till March when I'm 29 weeks so when do I get my MB1 as I'm waiting to hand this in to my employer, as I'm a teaching assistant for a child with learning needs and also my job is coming to a end in July, my manager knows I'm pregnant but when I ask what would happen regarding my job as they try to find as something else or I'll be made redundant she told me to wait till I get my MB1 and speak to the head teacher so I can find out if I'll get Maternity pay etc but don't want to have to wait till the end of March if I can help that

Have a look in your book from the midwife. I'm sure it tells you in there as part of the list of appointments by week x

Ask your midwife at your next appointment, won't be able to get it at that point but will be able to tell you how. Mine said to text her after the 20 week scan and she would arrange for it to be left at my GP reception for me to collect.

I had to text my midwife after 20 weeks and she left it behind the desk at the GP for me to collect. She told me this at my 16 week appointment so I would think you’re midwife will tell you at your next appointment how she likes to do things.

Great thank you I'll bring it up at my January appointment

After 20 weeks I didn’t have an appointment for 6 weeks so I just called my GP and they left it for me to collect.

If you don't see your midwife earlier than 29 weeks, give her a call and she can leave the certificate at your GP or send it by post. It happened to me in my second pregnancy and I did like this and got it.

I text my midwife and she had the form posted to me when I was 21 weeks. They're not allowed to fill it in before 20 weeks.
