Hi,
Not sure where to write this but there is only one thread about short cervixes and it has been inactive since June.
I am looking for any stories from people who went through something similar!
I had my 20 week scan a few days ago and baby is fine, cute little girl and all measurements etc are great, however I was advised that my cervix is only 7mm closed and dr came in and mentioned that for it to be good news it has to be min 20mm or more. I had a cervical stitch placed on Friday (20th) and was sent home on Saturday! I'm very very anxious as I am feeling a bit of cramping and back ache and having spotting which is apparently normal after an operation like that however, I am ever so conscious of any type of pain that I get and I'm driving myself crazy because I'm so scared I could go into early labour! Although the stitches and progesterone pessaries have been proven to help, I can't help but feel it could happen any day! Before the scan I had pains and ever blog on here said it was normal due to baby growing, heck, midwives said it was normal but the doctors at the hospital said it could be a sign of pre-term labor!? I'm at loss as to what is normal or not now! Do I stay in bed or continue with my life, Dr's haven't put me in bed rest but said don't do anything major like lifting, sex or go to the gym. I have a scan in two weeks to see if the op has worked at keeping my cervix length the same or if it helped increase it, but obvious this two week wait is crucial as baby will be 23 weeks which is the min week in the U.K. that a baby is viable and may (although very rarely) could survive! I don't know who to speak to and feel like I have been whacked in the head with information overload! Is there anyone out there who has a short cervix and went through something similar?
