29 weeks pregnant- blood when I wiped!

Hi, ok so I'm panicking! I just went to the toilet and had light pink blood on the tissue when I wiped! I am 29 weeks and had my DD at 26 weeks who is now 19 months old. I have also had a cerclage done at 21 weeks which is a stitch put into the cervix to keep it closed as it was shortening!

I am going to ring my MEU now and see what they say but I was hoping someone could give me some advice if they have been through something similar or even if you know this is a sign of another premature labour- I really hope not!

Any update @Salina2 is it still there? Is it only when wiping? Maybe phone midwife just incase.

So update, I went to the emergency maternity unit and they checked my cervix with a speculum and they said my cervix looks fine. They said they weren't sure were the bleed came from but everything seemed fine, iv not had any more bleed since so I just need to take it easy and keep and eye on it. Thank you all for asking x

Hope you're ok @Salina2! Did they give you anything to look out for? Taking it easy sounds like a good idea. They told me to look out for bleeds from a low-lying placenta. I've also had very mild spotting from bouts of thrush. Great that your cervix is looking ok and the cerclage seems to be working. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

@Salina2 thanks for updating us. I'm glad everything looks ok and yes rest yourself and take it easy 😁

anxioussue · 23/12/2019 06:26

I had this twice, once on and off for weeks, both made me wait until over 35 weeks. Hope it's all ok for you.

@nopun thank you for asking, so thankfully after my trip to the hospital I haven't had any more bleeds, I'm not sure we're the blood came from but I'm glad my cervix was in tact so it wasn't a sign of early labour. How are you feeling? It's so scary isn't it when something like this happens and you go into panic mode. Fingers crossed we can all have a nice Christmas and not worry about anything like this over the next few weeks. I'm taking it super easy, visiting family so I have loads of help with my toddler x
