Hiya everyone,
I'm 38+2 weeks, my baby is normally a really hard kicker (to the point where she made my side feel quite tender from her kicks lol), but on Thursday I noticed she wasn't as vigorous with her kicks, and seemed to be quite quiet. We phoned the maternity unit and they said to go in for monitoring, which we did.
Her heartbeat and everything else seemed fine, and they told me to come back on Sun (tomorrow) and Tues for extra monitoring to be safe.
She seemed to return to her normal self on Friday (yesterday), with the usual hard kicks and leg stretches etc, but today she's gone quiet again Confused
I'm not sure whether to leave it until we go in for our scheduled monitoring tomorrow, or to phone up now and go in for monitoring? I don't want to waste their time, especially as her heartbeat and everything will probably be ok again, but at the Same time......first pregnancy so I'm probably just worrying over nothing maybe?? Blush
Has anyone else experienced this and everything's been ok in the end? She's always had hard kicks, so its very unusual for her to be this quiet

Don't wait. I had a thread about this a couple of months ago and everyone persuaded me to go in. Long story short the baby was fine but the hospital took it very seriously and I was induced at 37+4. I was in and out a lot and was always encouraged to come back ASAP even if it was the same day.

Also, I was admitted for three days at 34 weeks, had six hourly monitoring, then bs m every two days and had numerous extra scans before being induced. At no point was my baby's heartbeat anything other than fine, but the reduced movements still matter as they can indicate other things.

Go now, you have nothing to lose by going.

squee123 · 21/12/2019 16:12

you need to go and be checked right now. Please don't risk leaving it until it is too late. They would rather see you 20 times and it be nothing than miss the one time it is something

@mistermagpie glad to hear everything was ok with baby! I'll give them a ring and see what they say! Thanks!

Hi OP, we ended up going in 3 times for monitoring, every time the lady said do NOT hesitate and do not think you're wasting our time it's what they're there for ♥️ hope you're there now and you've had your mind put at ease x

Greenmarmalade · 21/12/2019 19:51
