I'm supposed to be 6 weeks pregnant tomorrow. I have had 4 mmc in the last year. On monday pm the test gave a reading of 2-3 weeks and last night it had gone down to 1-2. I'm still feeling sick and tired and boobs still really sore but the weeks indicator must mean I'm having another miscarriage? This is such a head fuck as due to this I had some wine and now symptoms are back I'm terrified i have harmed the baby but realistically the baby has died due to the weeks indicator going down. Has anyone had this?

@disconnecteddrifter - morning, sorry for your previous losses. This happened to me as I couldn't stop testing and worrying in case something was going wrong. My husband in the end took all my sticks and threw them out! It ended up that I was in fact still pregnant( currently 19+2). My mental well-being has definitely improved since I stopped testing!! I think it just depends on how much you have had to drink and how long you have held your urine before taken the test aka how much HCG is in your urine. I suggest you speak to midwife or doctor- hopefully as you have had a number of MMC previously they can keep a better eye on you or perhaps do some bloods to reassure you. Hope all turns out ok! Xx

Thank you for replying. I am under rmc had all the tests and they said my miscarriages are down to bad luck? I am kinda anxious about going to hospitals now cant face walking out of the scan room crying and seeing pregnant women. Plus its christmas I doubt they will be open.

Hi @OP ,

There's usually lots of posts over here about Clearblue digital weeks indicator.

The weeks indicator it's not something accurate, you shouldn't rely on that or consider it to much as it might just stress you out. If you're in doubt, a scan or blood test can show if you're progressing but not the CB.

Good luck!

Perid0t · 21/12/2019 08:47

I was told by a midwife that to monitor hcg in early pregnancy to use line tests only.

disconnecteddrifter · 23/12/2019 22:01

So frustrating over christmas when no epau open. I tested today 6 weeks 1 day and it said 2-3 weeks which is has gone back to the levels from last week but should be 3* weeks now. Symptoms have lessened so think it is bad news. All my miscarriages have been missed so I will update when I know so others in this situation can see but if anyone has similar experiences of it going lower then higher but not as high as it should be please let me know.

Hey @disconnecteddrifter sorry to hear you're going through this. Like you I am obsessed with retesting due to miscarriages. I have had it when I had spotting and it went down from 2-3 weeks down to 1-2 weeks. Unfortunately I was miscarrying but that's not to say it's the same in your case because I have seen lots of posts of women panicking because of these tests. However in some women's cases they have gone on to have healthy pregnancies. Is there an EPU open near you tomorrow or on 27th as both are normal working days? It could help to reassure you. Because you've had mmcs before, they will probably see you. Although at 6 weeks they may not see much, it may help to reassure you if they can see the pregnancy processing.

Flowers I hope everything is okay with baby.

disconnecteddrifter · 24/12/2019 09:59

Thanks for everyone's messages. Just had a scan measuring 5 weeks and I know I'm 6 weeks so miscarriage number 5. Thought I would update for anyone else who might be in my position.

So sorry to read this OP. Did they say it was definitely a MC or could you still be earlier than expected and ovulated late? I'm guessing you won't know till next week?

It's a tough time I know. Clear blue digital should be taken off the shelves they are so inaccurate!

Daisydoola · 24/12/2019 10:25

So sorry to read this, take care of yourself Thanks

Catlover10 · 24/12/2019 11:07

@disconnecteddrifter I have read several stories on here and people who were scanned and measured a lot earlier than they expected, but their baby still turned out to be okay. Don’t give up hope just yet..sending hugs Flowers

R2D2abc · 24/12/2019 13:34

@OP I had an early scan at 7 weeks and was told I'm 5+ weeks( thou it was weird as we could see heartbeat and 5 weeks it's quite early. Turned out at dating scan I was almost correct on my dates( 3 days less) and early scan was incorrect on dates. Just to say it was one done at EPAU so NHS can get it wrong.

Don't give up on hope, you're still in until proven you're actually miscarrying.

Fingers crossed for you!

Wonderland18 · 24/12/2019 13:45

I had 3 early scans and my 6 week one looked like an empty sac, so I was only measuring 4 weeks.

My babe just turned 1, don’t lose all hope!

ACL07 · 24/12/2019 14:34

I am so sorry OP, i can't Imagine how you are feeling.
My friend went for an early scan about 5/6 weeks and they told her there was no baby there at all just an empty sac but at 12 weeks they gave her another scan and there was a perfect baby measuring just right. Miracle happened sweetheart, so i have my fingers crossed this is yours 😘 x

disconnecteddrifter · 24/12/2019 19:17

Thank you for the lovely messages. I'm not holding out hope. I'm lucky I have 5 kids and step kids under 13 so I've treated us all to panto and dinner and kept myself busy. They saw a yolk sac but no fetal pole and this is my 5th time in 14 months so I'm not optimistic

@disconnecteddrifter

Push for testing ask for the Thrombophilia blood tests - checks for reasons for sticky blood - I do not believe it's bad luck! You should have been tested after 3 miscarriages, you can also push for baby to be tested after miscarriage for chromosomal disorders.

I would try not to worry and ask for a early scan? Digital tests will change depending on strength of urine. I would imagine you doctor would allow a early scan referral due to previous miscarriages.

Be assertive.

Do you have any children already? If not push for examinations of your womb and tubes

disconnecteddrifter · 24/12/2019 19:51

I have 5 step kids including step children so I am lucky. They tested two of the fetuses which were 'normal' and me. No issues

Catlover10 · 24/12/2019 23:57

Keep us updated, it is good that you have some children already. But that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t have another if you wanted one. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you that the pregnancy has stuck. Flowers

disconnecteddrifter · 06/01/2020 17:14

Just to let you know I had a scan today and it is a complete miscarriage. I've had a variety of miscarriages from a and e and admittance to the ward to this barely a period and no pain one. The doctor said it implanted in the middle of my uterus so she thought it was unlikely to be viable and to try again but I'm 43... I'm at a crossroads
