5 days late. Not sure what to think.

My estimated ov date was the 2nd and estimated period due date was the 17th.
AF didn’t come on the 17th and figured I had ovulated late (on the 6th) due to negative tests, ov cramps, increased discharge. So going by when I’m pretty sure I ovulated, AF would have been due on the 20th, which was yesterday.

I cramped from the 15th to the 20th and then it completely stopped but still no AF.

My Flo app is saying that I’m now considered 1 day late for AF because it hasn’t arrived over the past 5 days. Still testing negative.

Should I consider myself out and assume that AF will arrive soon? I’m at a loss now and don’t know what to think. Wish I could get my BFP or AF to arrive so that I can start a new cycle. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. xx

When did you last take a pregnancy test? X

LittleBeex · 21/12/2019 02:42

@ohdearymemumof3 I took one about 5 hours ago and it was negative. Was a clear blue digital one x

Take a normal test pink dye it's better at picking up the hormones early on.

LittleBeex · 21/12/2019 02:51

I also did one yesterday which was a normal pink dye one and negative. I did do the clear blue one in the evening though. I will pick some cheap pink dye ones up tomorrow xx

Yeah the clear blue digitalis are known for not picking up as early.. i used a cheap pink dye dip stick (pack of 4 for about £1 at home bargains) .. and it picked up my pregnancy at 10dpo which is pretty early!.. id just get a load of cheap dip sticks n test every morning because im impatient lol x

LittleBeex · 21/12/2019 03:02

I do feel like the cheaper ones pick up the hormone the most but DP insisted on clear blue this time as the other ones 'looked shit' lol. But yes I've only gotten faint lines on pink dyes in the past, which is good because I can't afford to pee on clear blue tests every day, every month haha.

Haha yes i know what you mean I'd order a cheap bulk load on amazon but hopefully you won't need many more until you get your bfp!

LillyLeaf · 21/12/2019 05:15

Get a FRER, they are cheaper on Amazon. They pick up early and are clear to read.

LittleBeex · 21/12/2019 08:45

I'll pick some up today. Fingers crossed. Tired of not knowing but don't feel like AF is going to arrive now. But on the other hand I'm not feeling any pregnancy symptoms either.

DP is wrong, with pregnancy tests you want the cheaper the better if not FRER. The more fancy ones are less sensitive so that they can give you a clear answer. But that's no good if you want to know ASAP.

How did you estimate ovulation? Are you tracking or just looking at mucus? It can still be a couple of days out. Also if implantation is late, a bfp will be too. Good luck!

BertieBotts · 21/12/2019 09:05

I've never felt symptoms until about 6 weeks.

LittleBeex · 21/12/2019 16:17

@BertieBotts I don't track ovulation, but will be next cycle (if it ever comes!!) I get really strong obvious symptoms around ovulation though. But you are right I may have ovulated even later than I had thought. Previous pregnancy I had an implantation bleed but not sure if that means I will definitely have one with future pregnancies? I know that some people don't feel anything and don't bleed at all xx

OP posts:
LittleBeex · 21/12/2019 16:18

I'm almost certain that I ovulated on the 6th or the 7th this month xx

OP posts:
BertieBotts · 21/12/2019 20:05

Ah, I don't get any ovulation symptoms and wouldn't be able to pinpoint it if I didn't temp.

I don't think implantation bleeds are the kind of thing which carry over from pregnancy to pregnancy.

LittleBeex · 21/12/2019 21:15

Well I did cramp for a few days when I thought AF would arrive but it never did and that was a few days ago so hopefully that's a good sign that implantation did occur.. Cramped from the 15th to the 19th/20th which would have been around the right time for implantation.

Just an update - still no AF, no positive tests (did another pink dye test) no symptoms whatsoever. At a loss currently and just confused, even worried. I would be expecting AF still if it weren't for the fact that I cramped when it was due and then disappeared. Just think that it would be strange for them to start again and then get AF, except a week late?

OP posts:
BertieBotts · 22/12/2019 07:43

If still no tests it's possible you just ovulated much later than you thought or even you didn't ovulate that time and your body could be gearing up to ovulate again. To save yourself money, try and test once a week or once every 3-4 days instead of every day. It's a horrible time of year to be in limbo though I know!

LittleBeex · 22/12/2019 23:15

@BertieBotts yeah I'm starting to think I must have just ovulated very late. I've been exhausted today - slept for 12 hours straight!! Usually I can only get 6 hours lol. And still knackered now. Just wish I could find an answer now it's so frustrating. Thank you for all your help xx

BertieBotts · 24/12/2019 22:11

Aww well fingers crossed for you!

LittleBeex · 25/12/2019 00:55

Just did a frer with fmu and got a very faint line. So faint I'm not sure I'd be able to capture it on camera even. Let's hope it gets darker!!!

OP posts:
BertieBotts · 25/12/2019 12:50

Eeek! What a lovely Christmas present!

LittleBeex · 26/12/2019 10:15

I know, I couldn't believe it!!
It was very faint though so I'm going try test today in the hopes that it's a bit darker. Really don't want to get my hopes up just yet.
