Hi ladies. Just want a little rant. Currently 40+8 and booked for induction Tuesday, Christmas Eve great! Had 2nd sweep yesterday and absolutely no sign of baby comingSad Would prefer to go into labour on my own and not induced but its looking like the latter. He is obviously very cosy in there and in no hurry to leave lol. Have tried all the old wives tales but nothing has worked. Just a little fed up and the constant texts dont help!!

With my son I had a midwife appointment at 40 weeks and the midwife said I was nowhere near, he wasn't engaged at all, I had no signs. She booked my induction. Then 2 days later my waters went suddenly Hollywood style and he popped out a couple of hours later. Things can change quickly so don't give up hope.

Random question but how come it's 40+8 instead of 41+1? Incidentally I went to what I call 42 weeksGrin

40+8 here too and know exactly how you feel! Just had my 4th sweep but not hopeful it will have any effect! Baby just doesn't seem to be interested in making an appearance at all. I'm booked in for induction Sunday, but am desperate to go in to labour on my own before then. Also tried all the old wives tales to no avail! Nice to know I'm not alone...

@Oysterbabe Baby is engaged and my midwife said all feeling ready i.e cervix position etc and even she said he could possibly be here at the weekend so I'm hoping she is rightSmile
@salad49 Nice to know other people are in the same position. Fingers crossed they come soonCrown Smile

I'm not quite as far along as all over f you, I'm due Christmas Eve but I'm starting to feel like this baby isn't ever going to make an appearance. I really hope everything goes well for all of you and you have your babies soon

I'm feeling your frustration! 41 weeks today and had 2 sweeps with no sign of anything happening anytime soon. I so desperately don't want to be induced. Have a MW appointment on Monday and they've said they'll want to book an induction for Christmas day! I was certain I was going to have a baby before Christmas and will be pretty upset for him if he ends up with his birthday on Christmas day... Have tried everything to stay positive but now feeling quite desperate. It's good to have a few people in the same boat! Keep us updated on what happens and hopefully we'll all manage to have babies in the next few days! Xx

@Inthesky42 Im booked in for Tuesday if nothing happens before then and I really don't want him to have his birthday on Christmas either. I always thought id have a baby by now as everyone around us had their babies early so I just thought we would as well but nope still pregnant haha. Hopefully things get moving for everyone and were all cuddling our babies soon xx
