Does this mean baby has "dropped"!?

My indigestion has disappeared! I have had it horrendous for the past few weeks, I am 38 weeks today, my dad has commented that my bump looks "lower" and indigestion has gone! Anyone who has experienced this at late pregnancy and does it mean baby is getting into position? (Second pg).

Ooh I saw my SiLs bump drop - very scary, over the course of an hour it descended. Was weird! And she went into labour 24 hours later.

How exciting!

I haven't experienced this myself but sounds pretty textbook! Good luck.

It may well do but (voice of doom here) second babies can have an annoying habit of bouncing in and out because the uterine muscles are laxer. My second dc spent the last few weeks being 1/5 engaged, 3/5 engaged, free, back to 2/5 engaged - you get the picture, then was 2 weeks late.

OTOH, dc3 was free at my 40wk appt and I went into labour 6 hours later so it's not a terribly reliable indicator of how close labour is, IME .
