My fiancé has come down with a mouth coldsore. Only get them when ill and not on a frequent basis. Last one was in 2016. He’s never had genital herpes just cold sore on lip.
I’m 23 weeks pregnant and we had sex the other day unaware that you shouldn’t have any kind of sex? We didn’t perform oral, or kiss. I’ve never had a cold sore and now I’m worried that I’m going to have the hpv virus because we had sex when he’s had a coldsore.
Should I inform midwife/gp? It was just vaginal, no oral.
We also have a 9 month boy, could he catch the virus? And is it fatal?! Or more so for newborns?! Partner has made sure he’s washed his hands on a frequent basis. Hasn’t kissed him or anything like that.
Sorry for all questions. Just concerned that now I’ve got the virus plus pregnancy plus 9 month old.
I thought it was ok to have vaginal sex whilst having a coldsore as long as no oral/kissing. Guess I was wrong now reading about it. :(
