Hi all,
So I had my 20 week scan on monday at 20+3 and everything was fine.
About weeks 17-19 baby was so wriggly I could feel him every day at certain times during the day so like he was in a pattern already.
For the past week and a half I have still felt movements but not as much/strong/frequent during the day.
Is it common for you to have a couple of weeks of lots of activitie then it to slow down? I know I can't monitor a pattern until 24 weeks but I find this odd.
Midwife said it's ok aslong as I'm feeling movements. I just wonder why he has slowed down quite a bit!

It's usually down to position. It'll come back.

Something similar happened to me, as PP said I think it was just position. They were small enough at that point to maybe hide behind the placenta or not strong enough to be felt if they were kicking towards my back. I think it's around 24 weeks or more when you start noticing a pattern.

That said! If you are ever worried, do contact your midwife, they'd rather you called.

Hi OP, with both of my pregnancies I had days where baby didn't move as much as others. I think when you're as early on as you are baby is still quite small so depending on how they're laid, movements may not be felt as strong.

I remember getting quite worried at certain points. My midwife advised me to have something very sweet or cold (a glass of ice cold fanta was my choice) and lay still for 30mins. If I didn't feel anything after that then call the maternity unit. I was past the 24 week mark by that point though so it may not apply to you yet. It's a worry carrying such a precious load but I'm sure you'll be complaining about the sharp kicks to the ribs before you know it!

At 20 weeks, baby has lots of room to move around, they maybe just be kicking backwards at the moment! I had a quieter period around 21 weeks but I could still feel her, just not as much. But then it flipped back to feeling loads. Even at 27 weeks, I can feel when baby decides to spin round, it’s borderline painful at this point! But once she’s moved, her kicks will suddenly be in a totally different place! I’m hoping she settles into one position soon!
