Maternity allowance application question

I'm sending off my application but do I send the original MATB1 certificate or can I send a copy.
Also I only have copies of pay slips not originals I'm sending. Will they accept them?

I think the matb1 form has to be the original but you can send copies of payslips. That’s what I have done anyway. Sent mine off 5 weeks ago but not heard anything.

Did you have to put in a pre paid envelope to get your certificate back or not.

It didnt say anything about a pre paid envelope. Presumably they will have to send a letter with their decision so I assume the mat b1 will be enclosed.

I would take a copy of it before you send it off if your partner needs it for paternity pay etc.

You have to send the original MATB1 and they won't send it back. Give it to your husband before sending it so he can book the paternity.

Is the Certificate needed for anything else besides MA and paternity allowance? My husbands work have told him he will get paternity and have not asked to see the Certificate. I will keep a copy just in case.

As far as I know, you don't need it for anything else.
