good and bad news

i had my dating scan today and the good news is theres a 8+5 fetus with a little beating heart but the bad news is theres also an empty sac

im fine thanks, just thinking its ok as i wouldnt be able to handle twins but also twins!!!! its confusing!! but im ok

Congratulations & condolences in the same sentence. It's a hard place to be. I lost a twin with DS and although I thought I had completely miscarried, I then found out I hadn't so was overjoyed. Different scenario, I know, but I hope you can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy

Yes, I was wondering that, but didn't like to ask. Does a sac definitely mean a pregnancy, (probably sounds like a ridiculous question, so feel free to ignore me)?

well she didnt say, she just said you have 2 sacs but only one baby thats alive so im not sure what she was getting at and to be honest i didnt want to ask as i didnt want to hear the truth IYKWIM?

she also only showed me the screen to show me little beans heartbeat..... so im guessing it was bad news

im fine, i didnt know so it was kind of a but i think it hasnt sunk in properly yet, and my way to deal with stuff is by not thinking about it (although i still do).

Me and dp have talked about it and have come to the conclusion that 5 kids would have been far to much for us to handle, eldest being 7.......

I want to say its kind of worked out for the best but i dont want to sound like a total bitch and sound like i dont care because i do

#but of course i would have loved twins,,,,,,,,

Happy and sad for you hon, you must have all sorts of mixed emotions - I lost a twin at birth, my Mum cannot even mention it, not even to me.
