Hi All,

I am a newbie on this and 8 weeks pregnant. I have been bleeding very light/spotting dark red blood for 3 days. I went for a scan yesterday to be told that it had been twins but now is one baby that has a heartbeat. I am cramping slightly and still spotting today. I have a healthy boy of 8 and never had any cramping or spotting with him so am concerned with this bub. How common is this and should I be resting as that seems impossible with work/life/children?

Hiya, I’m too a newbie, 6 weeks pregnant and also spotting.
Went for a scan yesterday but they have said I’m too early so have to go back in two weeks. I’ve read so many contradicting thing that it can be Normal to have spotting.

This is my first pregnancy so my anxiety is through the roof. I’ve not had any cramping just a little back pain.

@newlands14. The scan showed one baby as no heartbeat and the other they size dated it at 6-7weeks. It's so confusing as I would be due on my second missed period now. They did an internal scan for me which showed everything quite clearly * fingers crossed

@ttocs Yes there told me I was measuring about 5 weeks which was too early. They said everything looked normal but nature will decide.

So annoying as haven’t told any friends or family yet so can’t ask them for any advice. They just say if it resembles a heavy period and I get cramping that I need to take a paracetamol which I haven’t.
It’s all so frustrating and just a waiting game.

Sorry to hear this so it sound like you have miscarried one of your twins sorry to hear this but without sounding heartless you have to remain positive for the other baby your carrying it is very common for woman who are carrying twins to lose one. Keep positive as wonderful as having twins would be you've got another baby in there holding on so you've got to give all your positive energy to this one. Good luck

@Goldenmother thank you. I am just hoping that this one is safe and the bleeding and cramping stops. Nothing that would even resemble a period has happened so I see that as a good sign.
@Newlands14 I was told it is really positive that a heartbeat can be seen. I think it means ur odds reduce of losing that baby.

@ttocs fingers crossed everything is ok with this one hun.

It was too early for a heartbeat so having to go back on 30th. My spotting had almost stopped Sunday/ Monday but last night was quite red and today back to brown discharge but not every time I go. Might do another PT tonight to try put my mind at ease. Planning to tell our family on Xmas day but kinda feel don’t want too now.
