I'm looking at getting the cheeky wipes reusable wipes kit and wondered everyone's thoughts/opinions on them?
How does it work with the big poos and sick what do you do with the big bits? Sorry if that sounds a stupid question!
Website states you can wash it in with your normal washes as dont want to be doing too much extra loads?

I use them and think they're amazing! Much better for little bums too.

You just wipe as much poo off as you can with the nappy and wipe. I tended to only need one wipe, instead of the billion baby wipes it would normally take.

Then I just shove them in the wash with towels usually. Definitely going to use them again for baby no2.

@relaxingorchid Brilliant!! I forgot about the nappy lol baby brain!!
Read the normal Terry cloth ones can be a little rough is this what you use?
Great thank you :)

Yes I do and they're so brilliant. Just chuck them in at 40 degrees with everything else and once in a while at 60

blueskiesbrighteyes · 16/12/2019 18:40

I use the premium cotton ones, and I actually use microfibre ones to take my makeup off too

DoYouRememberTheInnMiranda · 16/12/2019 18:41

I tend to wash them on their own (several days' worth) at 60 to kill all the germs and that works fine. Love them.

LividLaughLove · 16/12/2019 18:48

I ordered a set on Black Friday.

Hopefully won’t be using them until March 😅

relaxingorchid · 16/12/2019 18:54

I just used the cheapest set (can't remember which ones they were) they were white however, so went grey!

I also bought the hands and face set as well for toddlers. They are also brilliant.

ejmay90 · 16/12/2019 18:56

Thanks everyone much appreciated!
I know you just keep washing them but at some point they will need replacing, how long did they normally last before eventually replacing?

Just buy plain face flannels. Ikea or tesco etc. Exactly the same and cheaper. We use Mothercare ones.

JC12345 · 16/12/2019 18:58

We've had a white set for bottoms and coloured set for face and hands for nearly four years now. Used for our eldest and our now 2.6 year old twins. Have lasted really well. Definitely recommend.

I’m FTM to be and haven’t got a clue, so excuse my ignorance. These sound great - I’ve been worried about all of the baby paraphenelia filling up landfills!

Do you use these with just water or something else? Do you use them when out and about, or are they a nuisance if you’re away from home?

ejmay90 · 16/12/2019 19:56

@nelbert19 this is the wipes and kit I'm buying
www.cheekywipes.com/baby-wipes-kit/baby-wipes-kit/action/reviews/

They are used with water and smelling drops that come with it. Website explains what you get, how to use and wash them. They even come with a travel bag to take them out :)

@ejmay90 we've got the cheeky wipes kit too, I bought the premium ones. Baby isn't here yet but I can't wait to use them, they are soo soft!! We're also cloth nappying, I never thought I'd be this excited about dealing with poo 😂 if you haven't already there are some good groups on FB for more advice/support with reusables. X

ejmay90 · 16/12/2019 20:28

@aliensprig I was debating the premium ones, so may opt for those as there is a £10 voucher off.
I'm not sure about the cloth nappies so may stick with the wipes for now.
Haha I know what you mean I'm excited about it too!!
Ahh great thanks x

Ime they don't need replacing. Mine have done 3 years so far and apart from the odd stain they are grand. They function as wipes. Number 2 is due imminently and I did treat myself to another 25 just so I have enough for baby and toddler!

I won't use the boxes this time, instead I keep a dry pile and wet as necessary. I find this much easier and sometimes the box ones would get a bit fusty.
