12 Week scab Baby not cooperating

Hi,

I’m a FTM and had my first 12 week scan today. The baby was not cooperating at all and according to the sonographer had their head in the worst place possible and even after a walk and emptying my bladder etc they still couldn’t get all the measurements they needed because the baby just wasn’t in the right place.
They’ve re-booked me for later this week so we can try again. Is there anything I can do to make sure baby is in the optimum position?
Thanks all!

Obviously an unfortunate typo in the title there! I meant scan 🙈

Not alot you can do if baby wants to be awkward 🙈 every scan I've had my boy has had his hands over his face just to be a pain in the backside lol. Hopefully baby would of moved position by time you have your next scan.

Afraid not - it's just one of those things.
View this as an early introduction on how babies change your life!!!!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Thank you both for replying so quickly!

I thought that would be the case but worth asking just in case - I’d be doing handstands before the scan if that would help lol!

In short, nope! 🙈 both my first and this one have needed 2 attempts at each scan and each scan to be booked again, for another go! Sugary drinks sometimes make a difference, but sometimes these little beans are just stubborn 😍
Later on in pregnancy it's easier to manoeuvre them into the birthing position with posture and stretching... although that didn't work for me with number 1 either... transverse lie... little monkey 😂

I had this at my 12 week scan. Sonographer couldn't get all the measurements needed. I didn't get booked in for another scan though I think I just had bloods

PaddingtonBrown · 16/12/2019 19:00

I had the same, it's just one of them things unfortunately. I had same experience as Wombat, they didn't rebook but did bloods and said would check again at 20 week scan.

Thank you all for replying! I’ll just have to keep my fingers crossed that baby will have moved position by Friday!

I was the same with my scan last Monday. Baby didn't want to move at all, even after wiggling, walking and weeing 😂 Try having a fizzy drink or something sweet. May give baby some wiggle energy x

Gigitree · 17/12/2019 15:38

Yeah think you I will try having something sweet just before I go in!
