Pregnancy appointments

Hi

Sorry if I sound dim 😂
I just had a doctors app at 7 weeks to do the forms for the pregnancy. Asking questions & checked blood pressure & heart rate.

What happens now? Is it all done via post? Ie midwife appointments and the tests that need to be done by 10 weeks?

Hi, i think it depends on where you are, but I'd assume that your GP has referred you to the midwife?

Was the GP appointment the booking appointment? If not, you're likely to get a letter through the post for 9/10 weeks for the booking appointment, where a midwife will go through lots of questions and possibly take bloods, and they should also arrange your first scan (12ish weeks).

Next MW appt would be 16 weeks - I got everything by post but it really depends where you are and how it's done!

Not a lot happens in the first trimester (except the scan at 12 weeks).

She did say she will send off the form so I'm taking it as being referred to a midwife.
I'm seriously not with it. It's just dawned on me as I got outside 😂

Definitely wasn't a booking appointment so I'm taking it I'll get my booking appointment through the post now in the next few weeks ?

I think so, that sounds like it. You can check if your local hospital does self-referrals (mine does - I didn't go to a GP), but I would assume that your GP's referred you - yep so now wait for the booking appointment letter! :)
I think the booking appt should be around 9 weeks, but I've had one at 10 (almost 11) before. It doesn't really matter, as it's just bureaucratic stuff about you, family history, and some bloods.
Congrats! Feels a bit unreal doesn't it!

Ahh Thankyou :)
It's probably going to be a bit mucked up being xmas and new year.
I'm so excited yet extremely anxious and nervous and don't really believe I have got this far as suffer with recurrent miscarriages.
I had a scan a week ago and baby is fine with a little heartbeat 🤞🏻🤞🏻
