Is there a chance I could be pregnant?

Hi... So, August 21st I started my period... I'm very regular and it lasted 4 days. I had unprotected sex on September 4th (14 daysinto my cycle) but took the morning after pill about 3 days later (as I work a lot and I couldn't exactly tell work I needed it lmao) ...
6th September I had the implant fitted and they told me not to have sex for 7 days... I had unprotected sex on the 11th September... I was due on on the 17th and saw nothing until the 22nd which was just light spotting that day. I then didn't see anything until day 69. (29th October) which was a light bleed... I should have been due on on the 25th November and I'm still waiting for my period... There is no sign of it... I assumed it could be the implant although, last time I had it I bled more than usual as opposed to nothing at all😂

I did a test last week.. which was negative... I wasn't too worried until I've been having lower back pain and my doctor asked if I was pregnant.. I told him I'd done a test and it was negative and he said 'well cryptic pregnancies happen' and of course now I'm working😩😂

Is there any advice on what I could do? Considering I've done a test and it's negative...

My partner at the time (who is now my ex) told me if I was to get pregnant I'd have to abort 'it' and he would have nothing to do with 'it' if I had 'it'... And that I'd ruin his life.... So I'm just worried I suppose...

No pregnancy symptoms other than these missed periods and around three weeks of feeling sick and being sick the start of October... But I assumed I was stressed maybe (and my recent lower back pain)

You could be pregnant. Waiting 3 days to take the morning after pill is too long and it won't work if you've already ovulated and sperm has met egg.

I would wait a couple more days then take a first response pregnancy test which are more sensitive than others and see what the result is.

If it's still negative and you still get no period I would speak to your Dr again and maybe ask for a blood test.

It's likely you aren't pregnant and the implant is messing with your cycles but I'd want to be sure if it was me.

Yep, as InThesky says, once you’ve ovulated the morning after pill isn’t very effective. Did you take Levonelle or EllaOne? There are some studies that suggest EllaOne might be more effective than Levonelle after ovulation but they both work mainly by delaying the release of an egg, if it’s already been released then it’s a bit of an uphill battle to stop the sperm getting to it. FWIW I’ve had the implant twice (removal and immediate reinsertion) and although I had quite heavy bleeding the first time I had it inserted, with the second one I didn’t bleed at all (only had periods every 3 months by the time I’d had the first implant for a year). I would go back to the doctors and insist on a blood test.

You could easily be - I mean they told you not to have sex for a week when you get the implant fitted and you had unprotected sex in that time.

You can take the morning after pill 3 days later I'm sure it's 72 hours after sex? So again, you could of got pregnant from that if you took it slightly after that window.

I'd just wait a couple of days and test again, hcg levels double every 48 hours in early pregnancy (I think? I could be wrong) but you'd get a positive in a couple of days, if not I suppose you could push for a blood test as that would tell you for definite Smile it could be the new implant delaying your period

Actually I've just read your dates properly - if you got pregnant in that cycle you think you could of that would mean you're 15 weeks pregnant?

MoonlightMistletoe · 16/12/2019 12:34

No it's unlikely because you'd have a bump possibly and would show on a test by now. Periods probably delayed because of the coil .

Try watering down your pee for a pregnancy test.

Also... I've had a water infection on and off for about 3 months. So I have no idea if that can affect my cycle etc... I've been trying to get rid of it but it's just not budging 😩

In my last pregnancy I wasn't really showing (I lost the baby at about 13 weeks). Yeah I will see if the doctors will do a blood test, because I was ovulating before I took the morning after pill. But I was trying to have a break from contraception as they all seem to make me bleed heavily

Afternoontwee I took Levonelle I bought it over the counter in boots x

I'll buy a couple of tests later. The one I did was a cheapo pound one. I'll buy two and try the water down method with one.. I've only done the one test last week so I suppose I should try again!
