UCLH Maternal & Fetal Assessment open Sundays?

Just that really - does anyone know whether the MFAU @ UCL is open on Sundays? I know the phone line is answered 24/7, but is someone physically there and seeing patients? I'm 99% sure I have a UTI which has become a lot worse in last 24 hours, feel really crampy & worried, and probably need to get some antibiotics. If UCL isn't open I'd better try to find an out of hours GP, but that can take a while...

There will be someone to see you in the maternity unit. Ring them. Do not waste time going through the GP out of hours service

Well the hospital weren't helpful on the phone, I'm afraid - said they wouldn't treat any suspected UTI until the lab results of the urine had come back (I had dropped mine off on Thursday morning, when I first suspected a UTI, but the results are not back yet) - she said I could ring 111 & they might be willing to prescribe an antibiotic, but they might not. Oh and she signed off with a cheerful 'Do give us a call if your waters break though!'

With my history of PPROM at 26 weeks due to a suspected infection and a gazillion other factors making me high risk, this just seems so short sighted. I hate how I have to fight & shout for every little thing.

I am more than a bit shocked by that attitude. Did you alert them to your history and the cramping?
I would be inclined to ring again now the shift will have changed.
We are all trying to reduce unnecessary antibiotic use, but if I was there I would expect to see you, take a full history, to a ward based urine dip test & only then make a decision.
How many weeks are you?
