I'm 38 weeks and impatient for baby number 2 as it's getting close to Christmas. My DS arrived via eviction induction, well I was induced at 41+5, but nothing happened so went back the next day and had the drip / waters broken at 41+6, had him that night.

Hoping number 2 will arrive more promptly and under it's own steam. Was it different for you between baby 1 and 2 ?

1st 40+12 induced
2nd 40+10 spontaneous
3rd 40+13 spontaneous

I'm always late for everything 😂

BlueEyedFloozy · 14/12/2019 22:38

#1 - 40+6
#2 - 39+5 (section but she was transverse and had no intention of coming out on time by the looks of it!)

AutumnGlitterBall · 14/12/2019 23:19

First one on due date.
Second one a week before.
Both of their own accord.

ohdearymemumof3 · 15/12/2019 01:49

First 40+6
Second 40+6
Both spontaneous. Due next week with #3 but bet she will come at 40+6 too

DramaAlpaca · 15/12/2019 01:52

DS1 39+2
DS2 40+5 (he's still always late for everything)
DS3 39+2 again

All spontaneous labours.

Goostacean · 15/12/2019 01:52

41+5 then 41+2. Had induction booked for 41+5 both times but labour started the day before for DC1, so avoided it.

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 15/12/2019 01:53

42+2
43+5 he is still the outlier on everything Grin

BooksForChristmas · 15/12/2019 01:56

1st baby was 42 week induction.

2nd came on due date x

Thestrangestthing · 15/12/2019 02:00

Well I had a sweep with the first and a 2 day labour, he was 12 days over when he finial arrived. Second came in his own within 5 hours and was 10 days over.
Both technically 10 days over, first just took a long time to come out!

SingingSands · 15/12/2019 02:01

1st was 41 + 2
2nd was 41 + 4
Not much between them and both spontaneous labours.

lobsteroll · 15/12/2019 02:22

First 40+6
Second 42 exactly.
I was fed up too.

Despite the delay, both labours were actually very quick once they got going. A saving grace!

Good luck!

User1053051066 · 15/12/2019 02:50

1- 40+2
2- 39+1
3- 40+3 induction

Good luck!

ploughingthrough · 15/12/2019 02:52

Mine were about the same. DD 40+1 DS 39+6

TowelStripes · 15/12/2019 03:11

40 +5 for my first
41 for my second

Strokethefurrywall · 15/12/2019 03:14

DS1 - 37+5
DS2 - 38+2

Both short, spontaneous labors.

mynameisMrG · 15/12/2019 03:33

DS1 37+6
DS2 32+6

Both spontaneous and both born in under three hours

imiss · 15/12/2019 03:47

42+3
41+5

GooGoo52 · 15/12/2019 03:51

I was induced with both. First was six days late, second was 9 days early.

The8thMonth · 15/12/2019 04:11

Spontaneous:
39 +5
39 +6
40 +2

So all right around their due dates. I generally am on time myself, so wouldn't expect any less from my bubs 🤣

Boymummy3 · 15/12/2019 08:42

1st baby - 9 days early 38+6
2nd baby - 1 day late 40+1

2shepherds · 15/12/2019 11:33

First baby was born via induction at 40+15. Second baby was a spontaneous labour at 40+7.

cleaning247 · 15/12/2019 11:34

1st 38 + 5
2nd 38 + 1

GlamGiraffe · 15/12/2019 11:38

34+6 (5lb15oz thank goodness was early or I may have ha a baby elephant!!)
35+0 (5lb)

WhatchaMean · 15/12/2019 11:41

gibbonsgibbonsgibbons did the hospital let you go to 43+5 or did you really have to fight for it? I'm really interested in this as i was induced at 42 weeks, which they said was the maximum I could go, and would avoid it if at all possible this time round!

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 15/12/2019 13:08

What I actually had a independent midwife with him so NHS pressure was there but reduced - I went in for monitoring & had to listen to ward MW exclaming loudly about my dates Hmm
I had a GP tell me that independent midwifes weren’t actually qualified & no doctor would ever have a HB because they were so risky Confused obviously IMs are properly qualified, usually highly experienced & I personally knew 3 GPs who had home births Grin
my others were all over 42 weeks too (as was I - we just seem to cook for longer!) & yes you do have to stand your ground, remind them of the Nice guidelines that say you should be offered monitoring OR induction. Remind them of the difference between absolute risk & relative risk.

For my youngest the consultant wasn’t happy to sign off on HB after 42 weeks but she was happy to change my due date by a week so that I was recorded as 41 weeks when actually 42 weeks etc Confused really odd but it made them happy about the paperwork! I did a lot of repeating “thank you for that information we will let you know if we change our minds & wish to consent to an induction”
One MW told me they were so used to people begging for an induction from about 37 weeks on that part of the issue is they just forget that some people are happy to wait.

Having DH on board was key - he really stood my ground for me too
