Please please please tell me you get bigger/fatter earlier in the second pregnancy?

I was HUGE last pregnancy. Ballooned from 55kg to 80kg or more. Was just so worried in the beginning about eating enough, I overate.

Got back to 53/54kg and was DETERMINED not to do the same. Breastfeeding a toddler and running around etc. But I’ve felt so fucking sick and exhausted so not walking the dog, getting dog walker to do it, eating carbs and carbs and carbs. 10 weeks and feel absolutely huge already.

I don’t suppose anyone has an easy to stick to healthy eating plan for pregnancy? I’m just so depressed by this already and I know it gets much worse!

Hi op. I know how you feel. Although I'm in the second trimester now and it does get easier. I found the first trimester so much harder this time around, the only way I could prevent sickness was to eat! So do try to remember your at the hardest stage, go easy on yourself, if you need to eat then eat. It's typical isn't it that only stodgy carbs help the sickness, anything healthy doesnt quite help the same! Confused
Things will improve as the sickness goes, I've found now I'm further along I'm eating less junk due to not feeling constantly sick.
So eat what helps for now, and things will gradually improve. Your almost out of the first trimester now. Smile

I put on overall 3 stone with my 2nd 🙈 I didn't even realise I had put on so much I craved shit Food all the way throughout. Try the website pinch of nom for good recipes... It's what alot of people on SW use normal meals but cooked and made alot healthier. X

God I started this pregnancy so great - veg, brown rice, greek yoghurt, protein etc.

Now at 7-8 weeks, I literally have to eat as soon as my stomach feels even a little empty otherwise life is awful.
I've been having two big plates of plain spaghetti with some chunky veg pasta sauce.
These two meals amount to about 1200 calories, and then on top of that I have a few snacks in the day (healthy as possible) so overall I'm having about 1500 calories a day. Doesn't sound bad but all those carbs Sad

I'm naturally a very healthy eater so I'm hoping in the second trimester I can limit the damage. I don't want to gain much in this pregnancy. My last pregnancy (20 years ago!) I gained 3.5 stone because I just ate and ate.

I lost all weight from first pregnancy but put on more with 2nd (cheese! Bread! And other beige food was all I wanted to eat). And it was harder to lose it (but that was exacerbated from moving from a city to a village and hence walking less/driving more). But I did eventually lose it! Just took longer/ was harder 2nd time round.

@mywrencalls

What’s the recipe for your chunky veg sauce please? Sounds delicious

@crispysausagerolls oh it's nothing fancy I'm afraid! Just a jar of Tesco or Asda's own chinky veg pasta sauce, and then I chop up a few bits of extra veg and add it to it. It is delicious though, although that could just be the sickness talking!

I've found filling up on spaghetti and this sauce is the only way I can control the sickness to some degree. Has to be spaghetti though, any other kind of pasta makes me want to hurl.
Luckily I am completely off anything sweet, fried, fatty, dairy etc so hoping I can make it through the first trimester with minimal weight gain.
