Hi was just wondering if anyone has any experience with this. I had a miscarage in June at 10 weeks and am now pregnant again. I am unsure if I would be able to get an early scan or if I'd have to wait until 12 weeks. I no its different everywhere. Any info is appreciated.

You could ask your midwife or GP if they will refer you for one, I'm not sure what the answer will be, one miscarriage probably wouldn't count as a clinical indication for an early scan in subsequent pregnancy, but you might get someone sympathetic who'll try to get you in anyway.

Alternatively, you could try Groupon to see if you can get a cheap private one if funds allow.

Sorry for your miscarriage, it totally sucks (been there several times myself). Pregnancy after miscarriage is so hard, look after yourself Flowers

I don't know about Leicester, but at my local hospital you can the EPU direct and they book you in. If that's doesn't work you could try calling the midwife though.
I also had a miscarriage in June and will have my early scan next week. It's a very scary time.. Flowers

I am in leicester and recently had an early scan after a previous miscarriage. I was told when I had the miscarriage I could go for a scan if I decided to try again (this was at the infirmary)
I am currently 12 weeks and when I was 6 weeks I went to my go as I didn't know what to do about the scan. He rang epu when I was there and got me a scan for the following week. They were lovely there and the scan was very reassuring.
Got my 12 wrk scan tomorrow.
Good luck with the pregnancy, I hope it is uneventful for you.

I’m in Leicester and was refered by my GO to epau at the Royal for an early scan as my last pregnancy was ectopic. My scan was at 6 weeks but I think for a previous miscarriage they will do a scan at around 8 weeks.

I had a previous miscarriage at 8 weeks and am currently 10 weeks +2, I was told after the misscarriage I could get an early scan next time. But when it came to booking it in they said no as they only do if you have lost 3 or more. We went to window to the womb in wigston leicester last week and it cost £49. They were so friendly and I'd definitely recommend it if you can afford it. Otherwise, I think you are entitled to an early scan but it seems it depends who you speak to.

Thanks for all your responses. It's so annoying that it matters so much who you talk to. I went to see my gp today. He said it was too early for a scan (6 weeks) I have had pink discharge and was really freaking out I was having another miscarage, he didn't even ask me if I was in any pain. He said to take a pregnancy test on 4 days and then see if it's negative? I explained to him that after my previous miscarage I got a possitive pregnancy test for 5 weeks. He seemed surprised by this. I just want to know if my baby's OK :(

I totally understand, one week feels like an eternity. But from what I was told 6 weeks is too early for a scan, they advise no earlier than 7 weeks. I had bleeding at 6 weeks and my GP said to go to hospital, which was pointless as it was too early to do a scan. We waited for 5 hours to be told they couldn't do anything. I'm no expert, and i dont know about the pregnancy tests, but I would wait and get a scan at 7 or 8 weeks

I had 2 miscarriages before getting an early scan on my 3rd pregnancy.
