Severe pain in lower abdomen

Since Tuesday morning, I've had really bad pain in my lower abdomen, so much so I can't walk. (39 weeks pregnant tomorrow) The only way I can go up stairs is on all fours. I am shuffling around if I need to move at all - the pain is nothing like I've ever experienced before. Any similar experiences? How long can I expect this to last? I spoke to my midwife who said it's baby lowering and muscles relaxing and as long as I can feel the baby move she's asked me to rest and take paracetamol. Paracetamol really isn't doing much though!

In my first pregnancy my daughter was born at 37 weeks. I was hoping this one would be similar but I'm still waiting. I've had two late miscarriages in between so this one has been a stressful pregnancy.

Thank you for any advice! x

Not experienced this but the pain sounds unbearable! If it were me I would ring the maternity assessment unit just to see what they say... sounds as if your midwife is just brushing this problem aside!
