NT at 4.5mm, cvs scan

Hi,

I am 28 and pregnant with my first baby, so exciting for me and my partner!

At the 12 week scan, babies NT measured 4.5mm, i have had my blood test results back and I am high risk, greater than 1:5 chance of downs syndrome and 1:71 chance of edwards/patau. This result is a combination of my hormone levels not being normal either :(

I had the cvs scan yesterday and don't get the results till wednesday :( there is also a possible gastroichisis and the midwife was unable to locate the nasal bone.

I am going out of my mind with worry and feel so upset all the time.

Is anyone else going through something similar?

I don’t have ant experience but didn’t want to read and run. So sorry you’re going through this, I can’t imagine how difficult this must be. I really hope you get good news on Wednesday if not before x

Hi I didn't want to read and run I had a nt of 4.1 1in 25 of downs 1 in 80 of the other two I had amnio all came back clear had a heart scan last week which was clear too try to stay positive I also found out I'm having a girl I'm now 21 weeks and nt is now normal

@Tink388 hi there! I realise some time has passed since you wrote this here but was just wondering what ended up happening...? I am in a really similar situation at the moment and would like to know the outcome (good or bad) while I impatiently wait for the second set of my CVS results. Many thanks in advance!

I had very similar at my 12 week scan. CVS came back clear, and have since had 2 heart scans to rule that being the cause of the high nuchal fold. (Also 4.5mm and the sonographer was concerned about a lack of nasal bone). All have been fine and am now 32 weeks. I remember the worry, it was all I could think about and convinced myself it would be a negative outcome.

I had my 16 week scan yesterday and thought I'd send an update here. Thankfully everything is looking normal and there are no more worry signs. The nuchal fold seems to have dropped down to a normal level too. Even though we seem to be in the clear now, we will be reassured (hopefully) at our 20 week scan. For now the worries are gone though 🥰
