Regular tightenings 29 weeks

Yesterday I had a growth scan. Everything is fine but I said I'd had reduced movement so they sent me to get assessed. Baby started moving but they noticed I was getting regular tightenings. They were starting to get sore too. They checked my cervix, it was closed and did a special test to check if I was likely to go into preterm labour anytime soon. It came back negative but been told to go back if the tightenings continue to come back, reduced movement or any blood or discharge.

The doctor said it might be I'm not resting g enough. It's so hard with a toddler to rest tho! My mother in law has him today so need to relax...

But I'm so used to being busy I don't know how! Any helpful advice would be appreciated lol

Also, has any even through this? Did you end up in pre term labour?

I was high risk of pre term labour with my 2nd due to a shorterned cervix, I would regularly get tightenings. I was also on progesterone pessaries daily to help strengthened it.

My consultant was pretty certain I was going to go into pre term labour and wanted me to stop working altogether from 28 weeks (also coupled with the fact that baby was small).
I was signed off as fit to work but reduced hours by her as I didn’t want to stop work altogether as I was office based. And home would have been with a 3 year old 🙈
The consultant wanted me to get past 34 weeks as this statistically has a better outcome for baby etc.
I got to 37 weeks, planned induction due to static growth, I had a sweep and she arrived the same day after the sweep.

Personally if the doc says rest I’d really try as hard as it is with a toddler. Are you working as well?

Does toddler sleep through? Can your other half get up in the night?

Maybe look at local play groups he could go to for a few hours

I don't work no. Most of the time he sleeps through but he is usually an early riser. 5 am. I'm going to ask if my family can help more despite hate having to ask. My parents are coming over tomorrow to do house work.
Hopefully I can keep this baby in as long as possible !

Thanks for the advice I appreciate it. Glad you didn't come too early in the end.
