I saw a heartbeat at 6 weeks, it was like a tiny little flashing light, I loved it!

I understand that it might be too early to see one though.

Marshmallow1992 · 11/12/2019 18:26

We saw one at 6+1!

Michette · 11/12/2019 18:29

Awww nice!
I am just worried I’ll see an empty sac or something.
I havent had periods to really calculate the pregnancy age... just stopped had last pill on 04/11 and 19/11 had positive ovulation test and now pregnant. But not sure how old it js exactly pregnancy wise... just assume i am 5 weeks today.

Still can’t wait to go and be reassured...

It’s good to see that you saw a heartbeat :))

I have the same worry as I am getting a scan the exact day I will be 6 weeks. I’m scared that I’ll spend Christmas worried or sad.

We just have to hope for the best and prepare for the other, I think. There’s nothing we can do except wait and see!

crb90 · 11/12/2019 19:08

I had a scan and was found to be 5+4 due to bleeding. Could see the sack and a little flickering (it's heartbeat!) good luck

Michette · 11/12/2019 19:29

@Iliada

When is your scan?

I had a scan at 6+1 and we saw a tiny tiny baby and a heartbeat Smile the lady scanning me said we was lucky to see a heartbeat so early on.

Catlady32 · 11/12/2019 22:54

I literally had mine today! Following an ectopic earlier in the year I was booked in for an early scan this time round at the EPU. I was soooo scared I burst into tears as soon as I lay down on the bed for the scan, but it was amazing. I saw a little flashing heartbeat 💜. I'll post the picture.. I mean... get ready to zoom in because its literally a dot but the most amazing little dot with a hb!! Good luck x

Here's my little bean at 6+2. You can see the baby and the yolk sac, we saw the heartbeat as well which was lovely. I think what you can see depends a bit on how good the machine is.

I had a scan when I was measuring 6+1 and there was just a sac and a yolk - no foetal pole.

Went back when I thought I was 7+0 - sonographer measured as 6+4 and there it was! Strong little heartbeat and everything 😍

Try not to panic if there’s not much to see - it can be normal at 6 weeks

blackteaplease · 12/12/2019 05:38

5 weeks might be too early too see anything. In which case they will ask you to come back in another week.

sandytoes84 · 12/12/2019 06:58

A tiny wotsit! 😂

RhymingRabbit3 · 12/12/2019 07:00

You may see a heartbeat but you may not. If you dont that doesnt mean something bad, baby may just be to small so they may want to scan again the following week.

Michette · 12/12/2019 09:46

Ladies thank you so much for the details and pics!
I cannot wait!!!!
I haven’t had any real pregnancy symptoms so far just big boobs.... so seeing it will make it more real to me Smile

How were all of your symptoms at 5-6 weeks?

EssElsiee · 12/12/2019 16:01

I had a scan on Tuesday because I didn’t know how far along I was and they said it was 6 weeks. I saw a little bean and it was flickering which they say is the heartbeat :) I can’t work out how to attach photos!!

EssElsiee · 12/12/2019 16:02

@Michette my boobs hurt like hell im sure they have doubled in size and the smell of anything strong makes me want to hurl! I also feel nauseous 90% of the time and I don’t really want to eat much! Blush

Michette · 12/12/2019 17:25

So i had bleeding today and was checked at the EPU the scan showed a 3mm sac but no fetus to be seen. They said it’s normal but want to see me in a week for another scan ad check progression if any...

I was so scared when i saw the dark discharge now i am feeling a bit worried that it’s not right as i also never had much symptoms.... but have to wait for next week to really know if this pregnancy is moving

Confused

Thanks for all the replies though!!!

Fingers crossed for you!

Michette · 19/12/2019 14:33

I went back today to check progress and it all seemed ok on the scan and they found fet pole.
However it was a student doing the measurements and i am worried she took them wrong.
On my report it says fetus CRL is 2.3mm and gestational sac mean at 5.4mm.
Obviously the size of the sac is totally off as visually the embryo was much smaller than the sac.
But now it gave me more worries...

Has this happened to anyone?

Catlady32 · 19/12/2019 15:01

I didn't even get told the sac size on my report. Try not to worry but ring them up and ask if you are. They will have taken screenshots of the scan and measurements for your file so can easily double check for you. Very glad all was ok though for you 💜

EssElsiee · 19/12/2019 15:22

I had a student working alongside the other operator, she couldn’t even seen anything! Then the main lady did it and saw the embryo and heartbeat Confused

Michette · 19/12/2019 15:33

I told the nurse after when she gave me the report that it didnt make sense but when she opened the scans Screenshots on the computer the measurements were taken in that way but i am sure she got mixed up as even my ovaries measurements are completely off compared to last week.

And then the nurse tried to say that sometimes the sac is small and she didn’t want to say much and said it depends on sonographer etc...

Hmm
