Er... I know this is going to sound astoundingly vain but does this disappear after you've had your baby? Mine is quite dark and is both above and below the belly button and I really am not liking it at all at the moment (but could live with it if you tell me it's not going away )...

Am 35 weeks.

Mine faded gradually after the birth. DS is 16 weeks now and you can see it slightly

Naetha · 23/08/2007 15:29

Yes

How long it takes I don't know, but my stepmum had a really dark one when she was pregnant, but I only remember her having it when she was pregnant, not after

Hopeitwontbebig · 23/08/2007 16:36

Hi Holly , I hate my linea nigra. Can't speak for anyone else, but mine took AGES to go away completely . The good news it does disappear.

What's with that line anyway, why do we need it, who invented it, what's it for???????

And and and, they're not even bloomin straight!

lissie · 23/08/2007 16:40

Ooh, I am SO excited to hear that it goes away eventually, I really don't like it and as Hope says, it isn't even straight, it is weird and wonky and dark and means that I really don't like getting my bare tummy out much. Hey ho! Much happier now, thanks ladies. xx

Holly don't feel bad - DD is ten months old and I still have a bloody plaster rash from the dressing for my caesarian scar

The linea nigra is a badge of honour anyway!

Vitamin e cream rubbed on twice daily makes it go quicker apparently!

Aquasea · 23/08/2007 17:04

12 weeks on mine is still there but fading... as for those bloody stretch marks.....

hana · 23/08/2007 17:06

I think what dissapeared from me, was my memory, I had totally forgotten about the linea until now that you have asked about it!

But have just checked and it's gone but then... DS is starting reception in a weeks time!
