Hello, I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant and so far nothing like my first pregnancy. I have waves of nausea on and off, not the kind to make you sick, the kind you NEED food. However, most concerning to me is the pains, they're not constant but today has been pretty tough, very very very bad back ache, like period back ache but worse, dull period pains at the front and the weirdest of all occasional dagger pains down below and my left hand groin gets sharp pains/dull aches too! I never had all these cramps and pains first time round, I've googled, I asked my midwife yesterday and as long as there's no bleeding she didn't seem overly worried, but I'd say the pains are deffo worse than period, same type but worse and the groin pain is new! Has anyone experienced this or should I be expecting the worst 😩😭 thank you x

Hey - I’m on my 2nd pregnancy, week 7. I’m on day 4 now of pretty bad cramps. Sounding very similar to your description. It’s no fun and comes in waves. I’m not sure what to do! I’ve left a voicemail for the midwives and I’ve seen a nurse for my flu jab today and she checked my blood pressure and my urine. All seemed ok.
The pain is pretty intense but as I don’t suffer from menstrual pain generally I don’t know how to compare this.
No advice to offer you other than I feel your pain and a hot water bottle seems to work wonders xx

Also forgot to say I did experience this with my first pregnancy. It only lasted a day and all was well! This is different x

I'm getting the same kind of pains at 8 weeks. Have been having the cramping since week 4. I mentioned it to my Dr who said the same as yours, don't worry unless there's red blood. Even if there is that's not always a bad thing. My sister bled with all 3 of her pregnancies and has healthy 7, 6 and 1 year olds.

Thank you for the reassurance both. I'm at work until 10 this evening so was debating calling EPU for further advice or holding off, I think I'll hold off for now as touch wood no blood so far. @NorthernNTw1nMum would you update us if they call you back please? Thank you @erised xx

Hey I'm in week 9 and I've had bad pains since week 4. I ended up in a&e one night , the pains were so intense.
Bad cramps
Back ache
One sided pain
Shooting pains
Stabbing pains
Had to have the hot water bottle on most nights .. scan at 7 weeks showed healthy baby and heart beat ! I have another scan tomorrow .. early scans due to miscarriages. But I believe all the pains are growing pains :) so try and relax xxx

I’m having more noticeable cramping over the passed couple of days. I’m 8 weeks today. Main thing that has worried me is that my symptoms (bad sickness and sore boobs) is way better today. Anyone else had this?

Chlandy · 11/12/2019 20:27

Sorry to hear of your previous miscarriages @louisepx . I had a private scan last Friday when I was 7+2 and everything was good then with healthy heartbeat but these pains haven't half shook me up! That's reassuring though thank you, will try relax a bit more! I'm also 8 weeks today @OlivejuiceU2 due date twins! I had sickness for 4 days then stopped, I do get slightly nausea but goes off when I eat now and my boobs are on off too, they're very sore at the moment but I have had periods where they've been ok too! The first 12 week guessing games is horrible isn't it :( wishing us all happy healthy pregnancies 💕 xx

Hi ladies. I’m 7w2d and also been getting similar pains, usually when I get up after sitting down xx

OlivejuiceU2 · 11/12/2019 21:10

Thanks for the reply @Chlandy it’s reassuring to hear. Yes DD twins! So happy to be pregnant but terrified all at the same time!

NorthernNTw1nMum · 12/12/2019 20:48

I’m heading in for a scan tomorrow. Ended up in A&E last night as so severe. The test all came back normal but they have booked me in for an EP scan just to make sure all is ok. We go on holiday next week and I’m dreading a long flight feeling like this! Hope you’re all feeling better xx

Roselilly36 · 12/12/2019 20:50

Try not to worry, my second pregnancy was totally different to my first. Wishing you well OP.Flowers

Tigerso6 · 12/12/2019 21:35

I came here to write a similar post, I feel dreadful and have done for 2 week, freezing cold all the time, feel sick and my back ache is horrendous, strange stomach cramps and pooping more than usual. I've head paracetamol today which is helped but I feel terrible 😔

Chlandy · 13/12/2019 06:47

Good luck with your scan this morning @NorthernNTw1nMum please let us know how it goes! Thank you @Roselilly36 expected to be a 'pro' 2nd time round ha but deffo not the case 😂! Aww @Tigerso6 it's so tough isn't it, I'm the opposite with constipation, but other than that feel the same, hope you feel a bit better today sending lots of well wishes xx

I’ve had my scan and all is well. They did say it could have been my cervix in spasm. I’ve just been told to take it easy and rest. So that’s what I intend to do.
I haven’t had any sickness so maybe this is it?
Anyway feel super relieved to have had the scan and see the little flicker on the screen.
Hope you guys get some reassurance from this. Each pregnancy is different but it sounds like this pain can be normal. Still best to get checked out of you feel you need to x
