Anyone had a urine infection

Hi. I've been having a pain below my belly button. It's been coming and going all day so I just called the triage and the mw said it sounds like a urine infection rather than a problem with the baby because it is higher than my uterus at the moment, I am 16 weeks pregnant.
I'm relieved she doesn't think it is the baby.
Just wondered has anyone else had urine infection symptoms and what were they?

I have. But had no symptoms. Just went for regular check up and it showed up on urine test twice over 2 days. So had to take 6 days antibiotics.

I've had 2 urine infections and my symptoms were constant need to wee, and needing to wee straight after a wee and a feeling of heaviness down there. Burning when going is also a sign but i never had that symptom.
The constant need to wee is also a pregnancy symptom though.
My midwife checked my urine if not speak to you GP and they will dip it. When i spoke to my GP i told them i was pregnant so they got me in straight away.

Thanks for replies. I am needing to pee all the time but I thought it was pregnancy. I have noticed I feel pretty desperate and then don't pass much. I'm going to phone the doctor tomorrow and hopefully get an appointment!

That's how I was, I didnt end up going much when I needed to go. I'm not sure how your midwife works but mine told me to just text her and pop down with a sample as it's a dip test that takes 30 seconds.

I had also urine infection with my first but I didn't have any symptoms i just went for normal check with the midwife and then i was about 5 days on antibiotics. Now I'm expecting my second one and i have more vaginal discharge and it's more smelly and also it's itching so i am worried and I'm thinking to ring tomorrow GP and go for an appointment maybe it's some infection.

Lady321 I think you should definitely call your gp tomorrow.
I text my mw today, she took a while to reply which is why I called triage. I was upset thinking something was wrong with the baby! The mw text back saying to see the gp tomorrow even though I have a booked appointment with her on Friday so I guess I better get up early and phone them. The appointments book up so quickly it's unreal!
