Strange pains 32 weeks pregnant

I'm currently 32+1 weeks pregnant. For the past few days, I've felt a lot of twinging going on with my cervix. So much so, that last night I thought something was going to drop out of me last night. I've also had a bit of cramping (feels like slight period cramps) on and off, as well as a dull back ache on my right side.

Anyone had this before?

This happened to me the past two days, I’m 33+ 4 they said it could be pelvic girdle pain. I also have something viral going on and had reduced movements yesterday so attended the midwifes, when they dipped my urine it was positive and they’ve sent a sample off.

Could you have a urine infection? I have no other urinary symptoms except the pain.

@Esmerelda123 I just looked up pelvic girdle pain but don't think it's that as the symptoms aren't the same. I'm also not getting any urinary-based symptoms so don't think it's a urine infection. I'm due to see the midwife Thursday morning so hopefully find out more then. What was it that you tested positive for?

The cervix pain is what confuses me because it's a similar pain / uncomfortableness to what you get when having a smear test. It feels like it's slowly opening or something 🙈

Maybe give them a call today and ask if you can come in today. Maybe they could do a swab and make sure there’s no infection going on there! Xx

I am 32 weeks tomorrow and have exactly this! It’s awful! Feel like baby is going to fall out! It started a few days ago, really bad twinges that are so sudden. Well I saw the midwife and baby has moved from transverse lie to head down. Perhaps that’s what has happened to you? It does feel so different now. Text your midwife they can normally see you for a quick check the same day!

33+3 and had this since last weekend. Getting lots of pressure and slight period type pains in lower bump and constant lower dull period back ache. The pains your getting in cervix sound like lightning crotch very common later stages of pregnancy.. Also as pp has said baby may have moved down a bit.

You could also have a uti sometimes you don't really get symptoms but when you see your midwife she will check your urine anyway as they do with every app and it will show up if you have one. (you might not though) you could always give triage a call if your concerned.

Thank you all so much for your comments. I saw the midwife today and she dipped my urine. It came up with alerts for protein and traces of blood. I've noticed slightly pink discharge on pantyliners too.

I had preeclampsia with my first son, so anxious it could be this again. My first son was born at 36 weeks due to being small and the placenta not working properly. This baby is measuring small now too, so wondering if it's all linked.
