Just about to go to delivery suite - midwives think my waters may be leaking - I'm praying it's not and it's an infection

I'm 19weeks and 1 day

Has anyone experienced this ? I've just had the call that they've got a bed for me and I'm to go straight there Sad

I haven’t any experience but I am here with a hand hold. You are in the best place, fingers crossed for you

KHall84 · 10/12/2019 19:23

Am really sorry and I hope it's just an infection I just wondered why you think your waters have gone ? I only ask as I keep feeling wet and have been wondering the same thanks xx

lonelyonee · 10/12/2019 19:32

Hand hold here for you xx

I experience a lot of "leakage" in regards to discharge during this pregnancy and it can seem like quite a lot sometimes. Hoping for you it's just that and not waters.
Let us know how you get on, and feel free to vent to us if need be.

Stay strong, you're in the right place xx

Shelbustotherescue · 10/12/2019 19:34

That's why they think I have a leak as I'm leaking water, whether that be normal or my waters trickling so they're doing tests Sad

Oh OP, that must be so difficult. Everything crossed that it's not your waters.

goingtoneedabiggercar · 10/12/2019 19:39

OP I don't have anything helpful to say but I have everything crossed for you.

7dayslater · 10/12/2019 19:41

I can't offer any advice or helpfulness but just want to offer a handhold. Thanks

IfWishesWereFishes · 10/12/2019 19:47

Good luck Thanks

CloudyVanilla · 10/12/2019 19:48

Sending lots of love and hope your way, I'm 35 weeks now and at about 25 weeks I really thought my waters had gone; it turned out to be a weird influx of watery discharge for some reason, and at my appt I had that week I has some leukocytes in my urine.

Nothing like what you are going through of course but just to say there is a chance even when it seems very definite, that it is not in fact your waters Flowers

GrapefruitGin · 10/12/2019 19:50

Sending you lots of luck OP. I do hope it’s nothing serious Flowers

HugoAvril · 10/12/2019 19:53

Hi, I hope that your doing okay. My waters broke at 18 weeks, I managed to keep baby in for another 10 weeks and he was born at 28weeks. No infections found, my son did well. I was given steroid injections for his lungs from 23 weeks. Good luck x

FebMama2Be · 10/12/2019 21:28

Dont have any experience of this myself but just want to wish you luck ! 🌺

nataliemum25 · 10/12/2019 21:52

My waters went at 23 weeks with my 4th baby, he was delivered at 29 weeks, they will do all they can for you but you must take their advice, it's a scary situation, big hugs xx

Jesskir89 · 10/12/2019 22:14

Jowd92 · 10/12/2019 22:17

Thanks everyone, I've had multiple tests, baby's heartrate is 144bpm so it's all happy in there - they've tested the water and it came back negative for amniotic so they're doing more tests and have told me to come back if anything changes.

They were amazing, really looking after me and my partner

Op that's good news it's not your waters and if they're sending you home they're not worried. Hope the tests come back with nothing worrying but I'm sure they wont

hazandduck · 10/12/2019 22:47

Ah OP I had this at around 23 weeks, woke up in a big wet patch, it turned out just to be an increase in watery discharge, it can happen in the second trimester. After that it kind of stayed quite watery until Dd was born at 40+3 weeks. Glad all is ok and it wasn’t your waters, take care x

babysnowman · 10/12/2019 22:49

Great news OP

Extradotcom · 11/12/2019 12:21

I had this a few times with my first pregnancy, each time had the amniotic fluid test and it was always just watery discharge, it can be an awful lot at times, wear panty liners so you don’t feel as wet. Thank god you are okay x

lonelyonee · 11/12/2019 18:48

Glad to hear it's nothing to worry about, but also glad you got it checked as it's always better to be safe than sorry!
