I am having such trouble with this excessive saliva symptom i seem to be experiencing. Its so tough to deal with. Im spitting in a cup or tissue every 5 mins or less i cant swollow any atal as it makes me sick. Iv never experienced this in my last pregnancy and its by far the most annoying and hard to deal with symptom personally for me. Have any of you lovely mummy to be's experienced the same and is therr any temporary relief from this? Worse thing is when i mentioned it to a lady who worked on the womens unit at the hospital , she had no idea , and the doctor again, no idea what i was going on about makes me think im going mad! Help please 😫

Yes I had this badly for the first 4 months. It helped to suck on boiled sweets for some reason. I think it’s a form of morning sickness that lasts all day!

😂😂 I’m 24 weeks in and this started around week 8, shortly after the HG kicked in 👍🏻. I’ve bought myself a reusable coffee thermos with a screw top and lid- I use this whilst out and about. At home it’s pint glasses or cups/bowls and I take bath towels to bed as we kept waking up in damp smelly bed sheets (I was obviously spitting it out in my sleep).

I’ve spoken to GP and midwife extensively and been told ‘it’s the one symptom there’s genuinely nothing we can do about’ - some of the anti nausea meds can cause dry mouth but I’ve not been lucky enough to get it 👍🏻

What you need to do is eat lots and lots of bananas and make sure not to watch tv soaps and game shows. Make sure you don’t have a pulsating vein near the rectum.

Thankyou so much for the 'sensible' replies. Always one idiot....but there ya go. Thanks ladies , its nice to hear others are going through it as i was genuinly starting to think it was all in my head haha its such a horrible thing to deal with , im genuinly finding it hard to go out in public ! Im only 7 weeks gone so feel like i have a while to go het before this subsides! The coffee thermos is great idea though i may have to purchase one for when i do pop put it beats spitting into tissue (urgh) . I really hope this goes away sharpish. Im sorry to hear one of you ladies is still struggling with this 24 weeks in! X

@Miserablemummy1990 I'm experiencing this also, i'm 21 weeks but only seem to get it mainly in the mornings. I'll get up and walk the dog and the whole hour walk i'm spitting up saliva!
It's miserable isn't it :( but rather that than throwing up every morning i guess!
