Hi:) I've had two miscarriages & I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant . Around 4/5 weeks pregnant I had really awful cramping and one sided pain, so bad I ended up in a&e with a suspected ectopic. Scan showed everything in the right place, I've gone on to have a 7 week scan showing baby& heartbeat. My pains were implantation pains which I didn't get with my other pregnancies which I can only see as a positive in this pregnancy.
With my miscarriages I always bled prior to the bad cramping, the cramping lasted for the miscarriage along side bleeding . These are different, they come and go, no bleeding ..
they are really scary and I still get them now but try and relax . As long as there is no blood.. even some blood is still ok, then try and relax :) easier said then done xx

@louisepx I hope I'm not over stepping here but could ask how long you bled for prior to the MC? I'm 5+3 and I've been bleeding for 10 days, it's fresh red blood, sometimes when I wipe it'll just make the loo roll pink, other times it's enough to fill the paper. I'm so scared it's a threatening miscarriage but I had a scan last week, we saw the sac & it was apparently sat where it's meant to be & we're back on Friday for another scan. I was having cramps last week but they've subsided. :( so lost and confused!

I've had cramps in early pregnancy and also had the mc cramps and honestly there wasn't any difference for me. Only difference was I was bleeding with my mc.. It felt like really bad period type cramps. The day I tests with my 2nd baby I also had period type cramps asif I was going to have a bad period turned out I was pregnant instead.

louisepx · 10/12/2019 19:39

@summershine2204 No of course not.. so I started bleeding brown stuff on a Thursday morning and by the following Wednesday I was fully miscarrying, by the Thursday night I believe I had lost the whole pregnancy and the bleeding stopped by the Friday. I was 7+4 but the baby had stopped growing at 5 weeks. The scan showed just the sac, where the should have been a heartbeat at that stage.
I have all my fingers crossed for you that it's not the case for you.. have you had betas? That's how we knew I was definitely miscarrying, although before I got my results I knew myself I was passing the pregnancy xxx

@summershine2204 this was my sac prior to the miscarriage x

@Jadeelizabethx sorry I can't speak from experience but it sounds like it could be stretching pains?

@louisepx thank you. I've had one TV scan but no bloods or betas. My breast are still very tender & I'm being sick throughout the day (yay) but I am still bleeding. The sack was a perfect little circle according to the ultrasound technician. I've just read that 50% of bleeding leads to MC. I hate google sometimes :(

louisepx · 11/12/2019 08:49

@Jadeelizabethx it sounds like implantation and stretching :) it's really scary but I wouldn't worry :)!
@summershine2204 see my sac looked a little bit of a funny shape. Try and remain positive until your given a reason otherwise. My bleeding gradually got worse and when I was miscarrying, I knew about it .. it was horrendous. So if you've not experienced that, remain positive :) and Friday is around the corner xxx

If the shape of the sac was a perfect circle then that is a great sign. The sac deteriorates and loses its shape during a miscarriage often very early on or it's a sign that the pregnancy is an unhealthy one even before the miscarriage starts.

I've had 6 miscarriages and to be honest they all felt the same as a normal non-miscarrying pregnancy. I know that is unhelpful in a way but try and remain positive, rest. Your sac is a good indicator.

@Jadeelizabethx awww that's amazing! Don't worry if the cramps come back either! I'm at week 9 and have had them on and off . It's the body preparing and moving xx

summershine2204 · 11/12/2019 15:09

@Jadeelizabethx although it's not comfortable it's a good sign!
My DH lay on my chest last night and I screamed because it hurt my boobs so much 😂
