Worrying I’ve caused damage. Feeling guilty

This is my second pregnancy. My first pregnancy I was really looking after myself, eating loads of fruit and veg and drinking loads of water.

This time round I’ve rountinely gone over the recommended caffeine limit (although not by much). Barely drank any water and not had anywhere near my 5 a day.

How much damage have I caused? My 20 week scan is on the 31st...

None.

While not ideal, none of that is going to damage the baby, only you.

The baby gets what it needs from you, and if you're not eating enough nutrients then it will use up your own reserves of vitamins and minerals. So baby will most likely be fine but you may be running very low. But it's not too late to change! Try to improve your diet and water intake now, for the rest of your pregnancy, so you're as healthy as possible for the birth and beyond.

Thanks all!

Yeah definitely going to make a change starting today. I just hope it’s not too late although I’ve got another 23 weeks to go yet so hopefully not!
