Terrible hip and back pain!

18 weeks and I am suffering a little! I had a terrible night last night with sore bump. I'm also getting it in my hips and the small of my back.
Throw in a mouthful of stomach acid and that was my evening! Gaviscon helps but am I alone in this? Should I tell my midwife or would I be wasting time calling them about this?
I love our little (feeling huge already!) bump so much but I am really starting to think I am not cut out for this pregnancy lark!

Aye, pregnancy is unpleasant.

Look up "pelvic girdle pain" on the NHS site - of that's what you're experiencing then the midwife may refer you for physio.

There's also meds available for the stomach acid - eg omeprazole and ranitidine - which might be worth asking about if the Gaviscon isn't cutting it.

Could be PGP, I have this but it never really affects my bump. Definitely tell your midwife as they can refer you to physio. You can support your bump at night by popping a pillow under it, helps take some of the weight off your hips too! Do you have a pregnancy pillow?

I was referred for physio early on as I was experiencing sharp pains in my lower back and bum/hips. I also have PGP. They gave me some tips that have helped e.g getting out the car with legs together, walking up the stairs with the leg on the side that does not hurt, how to turn in bed. I have the dream geni pillow. Really has helped. My back is still hurting but it has all helped to ease things.
