I’m nearly 38 weeks and I’ve never felt or looked better . (Apart from massive bump obviously)
I’ve actually lost loads of weight, cellulite has decreased. I don’t look pregnant at all from the back .
My skin has never been so good. I don’t have a single spot and my previous oil slick skin and hair have now dried out and I’ve gone from washing my hair once or twice a day to twice a week
It feels like I finally passed puberty at 36
So I’m wondering if and when this will all come to smack me back in the face again once he’s born?

My skin was amazing while pregnant. Sadly not anymore but not as bad as before though. To be honest I was really tired pp and didn’t take great care of myself, if you put in the effort to maintain the good looks (in particular eating right) that should Male a huge difference.

Ah that’s a shame . Good that it wasn’t as bad as before. The weight is in my control so it’s the skin I’m more worried about . Nothing brings me down and knocks me like having a face full of spots . I’ve really enjoyed not having to spend the time covering them up every day

Depends why you have spotty skin. I get it due to PCOS and my consultant has mentioned it’s due to the imbalance between progesterone and estrogen. So far after birth, despite progesterone levels dropping immediately after delivery, the spots haven’t returned. But it has only been a week.

I am more worried about post partum hair loss to be honest. My pregnancy hair is amazing - the kind of wash and go curls I have always wanted. Really not looking forward to it returning back into it’s usual frizzy, broken mess.

I think my spots are deffo hormone related

Yes I’m also worried about the hair loss. I haven’t noticed a massive improvement in hair thickness although I can tell it isn’t falling out. But my hair has always been really thin and I can’t do anything with it so I’m expecting it become extra crap when it starts falling out

I had my baby a few weeks ago, my skin has gone back spotty 😩 however I never lost any hair with my 1st infact it got a hell of a lot thicker after he was born, and I haven't noticed any falling out this time Either! Don't let people scare you as everybody is different! Xx

I have oily skin when not pregnant & extremely dry skin when pregnant .. neither are much fun. I’d say it returned to normal within 3/4 weeks. If you’ve noticed a real improvement in your skin in pregnancy, it would suggest a contraceptive pill may help afterwards.. my skin was fantastic on the combined pill. I took Yasmin for years until I started getting migraines & then I had to stop it!

Hair wise, I never lost any. I have fine, straight hair & although I noticed a less was on my brush, I never noticed any gain on my head. But equally, I didn’t lose any afterwards either!

With DC1 my hair and skin improved so much from about 14 weeks, unfortunately my hair reverted to exactly as it was before at about 8 weeks post partum, but although my skin lost its 'glow' it never went back to being spotty (which it was before). Ive heard from a few people about pregnancy almost correcting hormonal imbalances in their skin, so you never know!

@Bol87 yeah the combined pill really helped me too, but I had to come off it for the same reason
