more BH in second pregnancy?

With my first pregnancy I didn't have (or didn't notice) much in the way of braxton hicks until about 36wks (DD was breech, don't know if that makes a difference?)

This time round I've been aware of them since about 22 wks

I'm now 30wks & seem to be getting a lot of them, not really painful, just uncomfortable. Sometimes (usually if I've been overdoing things difficult not to with a 20month old to run round after though) I'll get 6 or more in an hour.

Anyone else experience this?

Should I be worried? Might the baby be coming earlier than last time, or is my body just better at it this time round?

I had them much more strongly in my 2nd pg and have heard from others that they did too, so don't think it's anything to worry about. FWIW, ds2 was a day early, ds1 a few days late, but not sure it was anything to do with the bh.

i had loads of bh from about 25 weeks with second pregnancy - it was really annoying

I can't remember having many BH with ds1, but I am having loads this time round. Several an hour, lasting minutes at a time, and they are getting very uncomfortable now.

i'm 29 weeks with 3rd baby and been having loads too, just like you betsyboop they are uncomfortable rather than painful and much worse if i'm overdoing things, (ds2 is nearly one and into everything!) at 5pm ish when i'm trying to make tea and am knackered at the end of a day they are pretty much constant, as soon as ds1 and 2 are in bed and i've collapsed they stop.

think we need to delegate as much as poss to our other halves

BetsyBoop · 23/08/2007 21:29

it's not just me then, that makes me feel better

I'm just the same as you Frazzled, loads from about 4pm onwards & as soon as I get DD into bed and relax (collapse...) they start to calm down. Good luck with your delegating, not much chance for me as DH works away Mon am to Fri pm

I've been getting loads this time too (2nd pregnancy, 34 weeks) and they have been quite painful someetimes.
I woke up in the middle of the night once as I was having really painful ones.
I was a bit worried but they stopped after about 6.
I have been overdoing it but its not easy to put your feet up when you have a toddler!

sweetkitty · 23/08/2007 22:13

Not one first time round

Second time loads and painful too

oh sorry to disappoint you but first was 2 weeks early, second two weeks late

MrsFish · 23/08/2007 22:14

Tell me about it, my ds (2+3) won't let me sit down for long
