Hi ladies, need some advice!
I’m so confused and sad right now,
for the last few weeks I was so sure that I was pregnant, I had lots of faint positives, I had loads of symptoms such as nausea, tender breasts, bloating, cramping around ovulation time, etc, I calculated that I would be about 5 weeks as last period started on Oct 31st but I hadn’t managed to see a doctor yet (I would have been due on around Monday just gone)
Yesterday I started feeling some sharp twinges and cramps in my side/lower abdomen and in my legs, and felt tired so I went for a nap, when I woke up I went to the bathroom and I noticed I had brown discharge, like what you get at the start of a period, I was a bit worried but thought it may be just spotting. The next morning I woke to find the it had turned to heavier blood and to cut a longer story short, I ended up going to A&E just to see what it might be.
The doctor asked me to do a sample and immediately called me back to tell me that the test was clearly negative and I wasn’t pregnant 😞 I felt shocked and embarrassed at the same time, I even showed him one of my tests that I had done prior with the visible line!
He decided to send me for a scan which I have tomorrow morning, I’m just feeling so overwhelmed by it all and don’t know what to think, has anyone been through anything similar? Any advice or stories of similar situations would be greatly appreciated 😔

Oh bless you. What an upsetting experience and some health professionals can be so dismissive. I have had similar experiences with different outcomes.

Take care of yourself and I hope the scan gives you some answers.

Lots of love Xx

Really sorry to hear what you're going through. Similar things have happened to me twice this year. The first time I had a clear positive test, booked an appointment to see my GP and then the next day started my period. That's a chemical pregnancy when the egg gets fertilised but doesn't implant properly. Then later on I had about 2 weeks of faint positives with the line there but not really getting darker. Long story short I had bad period cramps and started bleeding. Got booking in for a scan on an early pregnancy assessment unit EPAU which showed no sign of a pregnancy. By that point I realized I'd had a miscarriage at about 7 weeks but it was still good to have the scan done and confirm it wasn't an ectopic or something. The lady I saw was lovely, very kind and compassionate and she offered to refer me for investigations as I'd had 2 losses. It's a difficult time. For me I think if the lines on the tests don't get darker after several days it's not a good sign. I'm sorry the doctor was so abrupt with you, sometimes they have no empathy.

I have had a similar experience, 00s of positives at home followed by a heavy bleed. Blood tests showed hcg rising regardless so sent to epau. Scan showed nothing at all and then pregnancy test negative ( I knew it would be as had to drink so much that morning) sent away with a leaflet about miscarriage. Then 2weeks after the bleed I then did a test to check levels had gone down and the opposite had happened. Currently labelled as a ‘pregnancy of unknown location‘ by epau and waiting to see what happens over the next week. Also some cheap tests don’t get darker over time, I am getting 2-3 weeks on clearblue but only pale lines on cheapies and my hcg was 1100 today.

Thankyou so much for your responses, made me feel a lot better ❤️
I went for the scan today which was internal, they couldn’t find any sign of pregnancy or a sack, but did say that it was probably too early to tell, but did say that they couldn’t rule out an ectopic pregnancy.
I was then asked to take a test which came up negative and Something about the length of my cervix (I think) having no indication that it was preparing for pregnancy,
They advised to test again in 2 weeks and to treat this bleed as a period,

So I still don’t know whether it was chemical, ectopic, or if I really was even pregnant in the first place!
Starting to feel a little crazy because I still don’t fully have answers and have kind of been left to it,
I’m blaming the tests 😬

@Dimples81 really hope all goes well for you, keep us updated 🙏🏻 I’m still non the wiser, can’t seem to get in at the doctors at all and I’m still having very very faint positives, just wish I knew what it was so i can stop stressing! I’m still bleeding so I’m just treating it as a period, nothing else I can do at the moment 😭

@Leah91thankyou ❤️ And also sorry for what happened to you! I fee like maybe this is what happened to me, it’s just the not knowing part, if I knew what it was I can move past it but the tests are very very faint positive, which makes me feel like there was some kind of pregnancy at some point and that I’m not going crazy x

@bugoven Thankyou so much 🙏🏻 The midwives/nurses at the hospital were really nice to me thankfully and made me feel a bit better, although I still don’t know if I was pregnant or not! X

I’m still bleeding on and off. Being investigated for ectopic now and monitored. Back again tomorrow for more bloods x
