19 weeks - how much weight gain is normal?

I’m 19 weeks along and have put on half a stone since finding out I was pregnant. Is this a normal amount of weight to gain or am I eating too much? I’m feeling pudgy and unattractive and some of my regular clothes are feeling quite snug now due to my ever growing belly. I’m wondering if buying some new clothes (even maternity wear?) could help me feel like a more glamorous mum to be! Does anyone else feel like this?

I think thats a small amount! Pretty sure id put on a stone by 19 weeks lol x

There is guidelines what they say you should put on throughout pregnancy but I really think it varies person to person and pregnancy With my 1st I put on 10lb by the end but with my second I put on 2 stone by the end... I think this time I've probally put on half a stone by now I'm 32 weeks. Don't forget some will be baby and waters etcc aslong as your eating healthy and not doing the old eating for two then I think you should be fine x

I am nearly 16 weeks. 5foot2, normally weigh 8 stone 10, now weight 9 stone 5lbs.

My boobs are normally tiny, now they are huge (so thats where some weight has gone) ! I am in some maternity clothes as comfier (apart from some jeggings I got in Asda a size bigger) and look nicer, i normally have a completely flat stomach but have a bump now, so mat clothes fit better.

Everyone is different! I am on baby 3, so I think my stomach muscles have given in sooner...
I have no idea how much weight I put on in my last 2 pregnancys, they were over 7 years ago.

I’ve just had a look at a pregnancy weight gain calculator, and apparently I should have gained between 6 and 11lbs by this stage - so it turns out I’m right on track!

can you post a link of that calculator please!!

I’m 25 weeks & I’ve put on a stone and a half. I’m not particularly worried. Last pregnancy I put on 3 stone in total but I certainly didn’t look like I had. I remained my normal size everywhere bar my stomach & boobs! I lost it all in 7ish months. In fact, the first stone & a half was gone in 10 days, was mostly baby & water!

I know I don’t over eat, in fact, I have HG & find eating tough going! I also don’t eat chocolate or cake etc as pregnancy makes me hate them Xmas Confused .. my body is just doing what it’s doing weight wise!

I'm 30 weeks and have lost 5lb. Haven't had any sickness at all and I'm having a big baby (3lb 7oz at 28 weeks). I had lost two dress sizes when I had my first child so I guess this is normal for me!! Wish it worked when I wasn't pregnant lol

You will feel better (I imagine) when you have some good fitting mat clothes...I am only guessing as I have just ordered some Mat Clothes online & waiting for their arrival :)

Im 18 weeks and ive deliberately chose not to weigh myself because i know it will worry me and making me feel awful.

In my first trimester i lost half a stone. (I couldn’t believe it as im one of thise people who really struggled to loose weight, I’m probably medium size/build).

Yet now, in the last 4-6 weeks i know ive pouched alot more than at the start. And my clothes feel tighter too. Ive deffo put that half a stone back on (if not more) easily. Im trying not to get too obsessed with the weight side off things. But i have realised I probably shoukd be eating more healthy than i am so starting tomorrow im going to change that and hope i dont pile it on for the sake of it (as i do like my grub).

Its hard to tell with pregnancy, is it water weight? is it fat gain? Is it baby growing? Glad you’re on track though! Dont over think it, enjoy it. (Thats what im trying to do, in moderation ofcourse) x

In my first trimester i lost half a stone

I also lost weight in my first trimester. I figured it was because my body was using so much energy just making a baby! However, I’ve now gained all the lost weight back and then some.

@wondering7777 it may steady out. You may feel youve put on more the 2nd trimester but come the third trimester you hit a plateau and it just stays steady?

In only a little behind you, you must be due eatly may? My EDD is may 11th.

Dont feel too bad about the weight gain, bound to happen and inevitable in our positions. Plus everyone’s different metabolisms must play a part too im guessing x

I'm 19 weeks and have gained exactly a stone. However for the last 3 weeks I haven't gained anything (but I've been quite poorly with a chest infection)
During those early weeks I've been on antisickness pills which really helped me (I lost a stone with my first pregnancy I was so sick and not treated for the first 3 months) It's meant I could eat - albeit only certain foods (mainly carbs)

I'm not too worried about how much I gain. I'll deal with it after the baby is born. Last pregnancy I gained 3 stone 😲 but he was 10lb 4oz at birth 😲😲. My worry this time is I was heavier when I got pregnant than I was happy with so I'll have lots to lose after 😐
