Should I be worried?

This afternoon I've developed the headache to end all headaches. It's right across the front of my head and eyes and I have horrendous double vision.

I'm absolutely exhausted and have gone through the maximum 10 rennies today due to such bad heartburn.

I'm exactly 30 weeks today, is it worth just getting a very very early night or should I give someone a call?

Yes, you should be worried. You definitely should be seen tonight. Do not just go to bed. This could be pre-eclampsia and no-one on an internet forum can safely tell you otherwise. Please make the call now.

"If in doubt give the midwife a shout"
I was told both times, if the headache can't be solved with paracetamol, to phone

amymel2016 · 05/12/2019 19:20

Absolutely call the midwife xx

Boymummy3 · 05/12/2019 19:21

I'd phone too even if just to get checked out and them say your fine and just exhausted.. Better safe than sorry xx

I'm prone to migraines with aura anyway, and was especially plagued with them at the beginning. But if I had them later in pregnancy I wouldn't hesitate to get seen as it could be pre eclampsia. You should especially be concerned if you don't usually get them. Better to be safe than sorry

whitetoblerone · 05/12/2019 20:02

As all PP's have said...please make sure you are seen tonight!

I hope everything is OK Thanks

Thank you. I've spoken to them and have been told to make my way up asap. Just sorting DD out to drop with my parents on the way over and will hopefully be told I'm a silly bugger in the next hour or two.

@LunaLovesgood Hopefully you aren't told that you're a silly bugger, cos you're doing the right thing Flowers.

LunaLovesgood · 05/12/2019 23:39

It's a migraine thankfully. Although bump was measured and there's been a massive jump in size so am being booked in for a growth scan next week.

Glad I went though, they were really reassuring and I was told it was the right thing to do, going in.

I'm glad you went in.

LunaLovesgood · 06/12/2019 19:55

Thank you Molly. Anyone have any tips for getting rid of this migraine/headache? I really don't want it ruining the weekend Sad

First thing to try is make sure you're drinking plenty, and take some paracetamol.

Then try relaxing your neck muscles with a heated neck pillow full of lavender or something similar. I find that my headaches could usually be solved with these three things, but the lavender may make it worse if smells trigger you.

I'm not too sure about migraines in particular though. Dark room, plenty of sleep?
