Positive early labour stories 22 weeks

Hey, my friend is currently in early labour at 21.5 weeks, waters have gone and she has backache. She’s in hospital and they are trying to get her to Saturday when she’ll be 22 weeks. We are all absolutely devastated and need positive premature stories at 22 weeks ! Has anyone been through this and have their baby at the end of this. I just can’t believe her beautiful little girl is so at risk and all she needs to do is stay inside!

They currently won’t give her anything she can’t have stitch and they’ve said she can have steroid and magnesium on Saturday. They won’t stop her contractions because of the risk of infection.

Positive stories anyone?

Never been through this myself but sending positive thoughts for ur friend. Also very glad where you are they are willing to intervene at 22 weeks here in NI it is a very strict 24 weeks. If you look on Tommy's website for PROM it will give you some positive stories. Really hope baby stays in a good while longer

The outcome is uncertain for your friend and whatever it is she will need support. They'll try to keep baby inside as long as possible and every day counts.

I have one positive story which was a tiny little girl in the park who was chatting away and running around. I chatted to her granny and she had been born at 23 weeks weighing less than the proverbial bag of sugar. She was in hospital for months and in danger of all sorts including brain damage but all seemed well and she had been fully signed off at her 2 year check up as not having brain damage or any permanent problems.

I'm sorry, just be there for her is all you can offer.

They need to give her steroids and magnesium straight away. Nothing major changes between 21.6 and 22, and dates are never 100% anyway.
