Absences getting me worried

Even in my workplace and per policy that I can't have a pregnancy related absence go against me, i still worry when taking time off sick.
My pregnancy insomnia came back last night along with restless legs. I had some absences at the start but my manager at the time wasn't supportive. Moved areas but still same employer but more supportive management. I work as a nurse so long days!
But hate having high absence rates even though ourwith my control! Any of u guys had time off sick due to pregnancy?

I've been off since August...

I was off loads, only a day or 2 at a time but lots of instances. I had SPD and some days I just couldn't make it in. My work are notoriously stingy but my manager was fine, pregnancy gives you some protection though, make sure you know what they can and can't do with regards to your absence.

I just hate taking time off and always feel bad. Just hope this isn't insomnia again!

I’m feeling the same about taking time off. 33 weeks and for the last 3 weeks my insomnia has been really bad, which has been fuelling my anxiety resulting in a few days sick. I’ve been at work all week though today I went to the hospital for reduced movement. All fine but think my anxiety and lack of sleep has a big part to play. One day last week I was so anxious I sat at my desk in tears for no reason. I’m only working 2 more weeks but it feels like a bit of a mental struggle at the minute. X

Yep. Also had the insomnia. Messes me up. Work didn't allow partial sick days to nap so got signed off with stress. Will do it again if necessary.

Apple35 · 05/12/2019 18:18

I was thinking of asking for some nap time but doubt i would get it!

I'm signed off at the moment and have been for 2 weeks and have requested a sick note for 2 more, as I have been having a fair amount of bleeding due to placenta previa. I also have a stressful job and before the placenta issue was diagnosed, I did wonder if it was caused by the workplace stress. I shall go back after that though. I hear you with the exhaustion.

Apple35 · 05/12/2019 18:56

Yes and then some. I work as a psych nurse. I had early bleeding and took time off for that too x

I was signed off for about 2 months from 6 weeks for hypermesis. I am still sick but my work has been totally flexible in that i work when i can. The doc wants to sign me off but mentally i was going crazy at home with nothing to do but if it gets any worse esp with the insomnia i may have to get signed off. I feel super guilty but i have accepted and know that my body just cant cope. It is more important that you and the baby are fine. You are protected because you are pregnant so just listen to your body

Apple35 · 03/01/2020 03:24

Yeah very true. Away to phone just now and will phone doc in the morning. Hope u start feeling better @Aisah.
