Don't understand the dating.......4+6 etc

I keep hearing people say they're 5+2 or whatever and I don't get it. I assume its 5 weeks 2 days? or is it 5 months 2 weeks. If it's days how on earth do you know? I know when my last af was but one pregnancy calculator says I'm 5 weeks and another says I'm 4.

Yes, it means 4 weeks and 6 days. Pregnancy is usually calculated in weeks rather than months.

first day of lmp was 17 july. baby centre says I'm 4 weeks bbc says I'm 5 weeks

It will be much easier to date once you have the scan at 12 weeks.

If your LMP was 17 July that means that every Tuesday is the start of your next week. That means that today you are 5+1.
