Hi, I have an early 40
Week midwife appointment booked for this Sunday, I'm 40'weeks next Thursday the 12th. Does anyone know if I'd be able to get a sweep on Sunday, before I'm 40'weeks?
Desperate to get things moving! Xx

My midwife said no, she won't give me one until I'm 40 weeks. My sisters midwife wouldn't give her one until she was 41!

But I've seen on here other people have been offered on at 39 weeks, so I guess it depends on your NHS trust and individual midwife.

I moved my appointment from 39+5 to 40+0 to make sure I could get it.

Good luck!!

Bugger - thought as much ☹️. I couldn't get in later as my midwife is busy at the doctors and no hospital appointments. Will have to put on persuasion skills on Sunday! Thank you x

Some midwives will but I think you need speak to them before hand I've been told to ask my midwife for one around 38 weeks I think if they have a reason too most will do it x

My midwife said it varies from trust to trust. Here they are not allowed to do it before 41 weeks without consultant approval
