How's everyone feeling at 12 weeks?

All along everyone has told me once I reach 12 weeks I will feel amazing and be glowing, however I am definitely not glowing, still being sick, exhausted and have an annoying pain in my tailbone that comes on if I've walked around a lot.

The plus is that I have developed a tiny bump Grin it's rather cute!

How's everyone else feeling around this stage?

I am 12 weeks on Saturday and I'm exhausted, emotional and weeing constantly! But the sickness isn't nearly as bad and we have our scan on Saturday so I am looking forward to finally knowing if tj3 baby is ok.

chocolate26 · 04/12/2019 13:50

@JessicaN25 congratulations 😊 I'm also 12 weeks on Saturday! I'm sure everything will be fine with baby, have you had any scans yet? I have my scan on Monday but we have had two private scans already, one at 6 weeks and one at 9.4 weeks but I'm still nervous about our scan on Monday!

Yes to being emotional! I could cry at the drop of a hat.

Ahhh really! My scan is in the morning so I'm glad I don't have to wait all day at least! This will be our first scan for this pregnancy but this is our second baby so we know what to expect this time! I don't think the nerves really ever go away. Are you going to find out the gender or have a surprise?

chocolate26 · 04/12/2019 15:25

@JessicaN25 that's good that your scan is in the morning! Mine is too and I'm so glad.

Before becoming pregnant we said we would definitely have a surprise and not find out, however now I'm pregnant I kind of want to know Smile just so I can refer to it as him or her and I feel it might make it feel a bit more real! However my DH still 100% does not want to find out so I guess we won't be finding out 🤷‍♀️ are you going to find out?

When did you start buying stuff with your first? We haven't bought anything yet but I'm so tempted to after our scan!

I feel pretty good but have done thought - very lucky! Skin is playing up a bit (spotty chin), feel more tired and sleeping more than usual (although disturbed some nights). Breasts sore but they were before pregnancy anyway. Increased discharge, a bit of weight gain, but that is it :) My scan is tomorrow morning so hoping hat everything is ok

chocolate26 · 08/12/2019 09:13

@JessicaN25 how did your scan go yesterday? Hoping it was all fine Smile

Very well thank you! The baby was in an awkward position so it took a long time and a lot of moving around but eventually we got to have all the checks done and see the baby properly for all of 5 seconds! It wasn't as relaxing as with my last pregnancy that's for sure but still just as wonderful. How did yours go? X

@chocolate26 I could have written this post myself, as I feel exactly the same as you! All day nausea, vomiting, and just feeling blah! Not really enjoying any food as no matter what I eat, I'm left with a 'nauseousy' taste in my mouth 😭.

In the last few days, I've also started to get pain in my tailbone and it's just soo frustrating! I really cannot wait until this phase is all over and I can somewhat start enjoying my pregnancy! It's all very depressing at the moment and I have hated my 1st trimester so far 😭.

12+1 today.

ThinkPink71 · 09/12/2019 10:56

Ive just reached 18 weeks. Like you I thought the minute I hit 12 weeks I would feel like a goddess! Truth is, it took me till 17 weeks to feel normal again!! Weirdly, I've forgotten how crap I felt :)

marmitecheesetoast · 09/12/2019 13:15

I’m 11.5 weeks, feeling utterly crap and utterly fed up of having to pretend I feel fine at work all day! I also have all day nausea, vomiting at least once a day, sore boobs, banging headache and downright exhausted! Oh not to forget emotional and teary. I was sick every day til 16 weeks last time, so feeling it may be a while yet.

Hopefully we’ll all start to feel at least a bit better for Christmas?!

CoffeeAndCarbs · 09/12/2019 14:38

I'm 12+6 and still feel like shit! Nauseous 24/7, it wakes me up every night, numerous times so i'm shattered during the day.

I'm really hoping it passes over the next week as I've been useless since I was 6 weeks and can't stand the thought of feeling this bad for much longer.

Readytopopmom · 09/12/2019 15:37

Hi , I'm a new mom and I'm really scared about being one n i have a few questions as of right now . , like first I eat something n then start coughing and then today I threw it all up ! ? Is that bad ? I'm 12 weeks along , is it bad to still be throwing up and not getting strong enough to walk again without having to throw up

JessicaN25 · 09/12/2019 21:23

@chocolate26 We were impatient with our first and found out but I was convinced it was a boy and he was, instantly regretted finding out though as I felt like I had ruined the surprise so this time we are having a surprise. I also have no inclination to find out like I did with our son and I have no clue what gender I think the baby is either so all in all I feel a lot more patient but I didn't first time around. First time around we bought a little bunny after our first scan at 8 weeks and after our 12 week scan we went to mama's and papa's and bought the furniture and half the shop! Terrible but we were excited and this time we've bought some clothes but nothing else as we are only buying a new crib and carseat so we will just get them closer to the time. I would say shop away!

chocolate26 · 10/12/2019 06:30

I had my scan yesterday and it was amazing! So lovely to see it wriggling about waving its arms around Smile I was a nervous wreck waiting in the waiting room.

My sickness has definitely improved compared to how I was at 6-10 weeks. Since Sunday I've had a headache though that seems to come and go which is annoying, apparently that's common at 12 weeks though.

How's everyone coping at work? I've been off since 6 weeks with severe sickness, I'm planning to go back early January when they open after Christmas!

Ah congratulations @chocolate26! I’ve got mine tomorrow. Did you with a full bladder? I’ve had no info!

12 weeks tomorrow and still throwing up my breakfast Every Single Morning before leaving for work Sad

Twittlebee · 11/12/2019 08:53

12 weeks on Friday and, like my previous pregnancies, I still find myself very sicky with plenty of aversions although tiredness is no longer an issue. I have always found I do not usually start "glowing" (feeling better) until around the 22-24 week mark

chocolate26 · 11/12/2019 09:19

@marmitecheesetoast yes I had to have a full bladder, I drank a pint of water an hour before and held it Smile I think I was too nervous to think about how much I needed a wee!

Good luck for tomorrow Smile let us know how it goes!

Thanks @chocolate26 I thought that’s what I did last time but couldn’t remember.

Thanks, I will do. Anxious but excited!

hjbows88 · 11/12/2019 13:14

Hi all. I’m the same with headaches as some of you. Currently 13 weeks (well, either 12 or 12+5 as had a private scan and nhs scan a week apart which dates me differently!) they come and go but most days I’ve got the headache to some degree!

chocolate26 · 11/12/2019 14:30

@hjbows88 congratulations! It seems like headaches around the 12 week mark are common! I've read that it's the transition between the first and second trimester that causes them. How are you dealing with yours? I've taken paracetamol once when it was really bad but most of the time I try not to take anything for them! Smile

All went well with scan this morning. Just waiting for screening results to come back now. As soon as you get past one worry it’s on to the next hey! Been sick 3 times today so far and my toddler got up for the day at 4.30am SadEnvy

chocolate26 · 12/12/2019 18:30

@marmitecheesetoast oh no! You must be exhausted, hopefully you can have a restful evening Smile congratulations on your scan being all good! I had the screening done aswell and my hospital said I would hear within 72 hours if it was bad news and I haven't heard anything so I'm taking that as it's okay! It is a continuous worry though isn't it, I thought I'd stop worrying after my 12 week scan but I'm still worrying Grin does the worry ever go? Or at least calm down?
