Hi!
Anyone from NI know how the nurses industrial action will affect antenatal appointments?
I’m due to have my 28 week appointment in the mater on the 18th. But don’t know if it will go ahead or not. I’ve tried ringing but haven’t gotten a straight answer

I'd say so, they were cancelling cancer diagnosis procedures were they not? I'm 9 weeks gone and I am waiting on first scan from RVH. How long did you wait for your first scan overthemoon123?

Yeh, they did cancel some appointments but I’d read Maternity wasn’t affected... but I think the 18th is a bigger strike. Could be mistaken tho!

Congratulations. I had a bit of a weird start to mine... gp sent me to royal for what I assumed was a dating scan (didn’t know how far along I was). Had a scan a few days later and they couldn’t see anything apart from a sack. Woman was pretty rude and suggested I’d probably miscarried.

Spoke with another midwife who was lovely, explained that it might just be super early and they would bring me back in 2 weeks to the early pregnancy clinic for an internal scan. Everything was perfect after the 2 weeks, I was dated about 8 weeks along and then just had to wait a few weeks for my 12 week booking appointment. Think I had that about 13+2 In the mater x
