I'm just venting as there's no-one in real life I can grumble to except DH. I know these are totally first world problems too. I'm just 8 weeks first pregnancy and have come down with the worlds worst cold. I've had it for a week, thought it was getting better and then today I've been totally knocked out and have spent the day in bed. Aches and pains, splitting headache, throat feels like I swallowed shards of glass, nose won't stop running and I can't breathe through my nose. Never had a cold / flu thing without being able to take strong cold remedy all day- it's miserable! And I've already been feeling nauseous and sick and having bloating and heartburn.

Again, I'm just having a grumble really, and hoping the baby is all cosy and fine in there. I know it's not proper flu as I've had the flu jab. I'm just having a moms and feeling sorry for myself, suffering and wish I could feel better Sad

@CouldBeAGreatMum I'm feeling your pain now! Came down with an awful cold the day I found out I was pregnant (last Friday!), the worst was having to deal with a splitting headache with no painkillers! Felt like a Victorian lady just lying in a dark room and waiting for it to pass.
Hope you'll feel better soon

Completely empathise. I'm 38 weeks pregnant with twins and have come down with the worst cold! Paracetamol isn't touching it, of course, because it's 90% congestion. I need some night nurse damn it!

You can guarantee the babies will decide to make an appearance AFTER I've got over the cold, rather than ASAP so that I can take all the drugs!

I've heard for headaches a can of coke and paracetamol works wonders in Pregnancy.. How I don't have a clue lol but maybe Worth a try.. For your throat you can have jakemans sweets but they advise agenst any other lozenges..

I totally feel for you I was the same few months ago its horrible and tbh had a sore throat pretty much all through this pregnancy I can't wait till baby come so I can down a full bottle off cough medicine! X

You have my sympathies, I seemed to get a cold every month all through my pregnancy. All you can have is paracetamol and it really doesn't cut it.

I feel your pain, I'm currently 10 weeks and just getting over a cold. I work in a beauty salon and today I nearly passed out on a client 🤦🏼‍♀️ had to confess to her in the end as she was 8 months pregnant and I didn't want her thinking I was ill lol felt shitty all day today :( bloody cold season.

Hope you all start to feel better soon xxx

7 weeks here and I either have the world’s worst morning sickness come on in 24 hours, or a vomiting bug passed on by my 3 year old. Threw up every hour on the hour last night, spent the day in bed being sick, had to cancel a work trip, and still feeling like death. I forgot how rubbish being pregnant is (although it took me a while to get here so I am forever thankful).

I really hope everyone starts to feel better soon
