Period like cramps 13 weeks + 3 days

Hi everyone
I’m having period like cramps in my uterus area. I only had my “12 wk” scan yesterday so I’m not really worried about baby (although any reassurance welcome) but I wondered if I can get away with a hot water bottle on my lower abdomen. I’d like a bath but I used to have them piping hot before pregnancy. Am I right in understanding I can’t have them this hot because it’ll raise my body temp too much? If my body temp doesn’t go up too much is baby insulated enough in my uterus? My tummy usually sticks out of the bath water to be honest, especially now!
Any ideas to ease this would be useful. I wouldn’t describe as pain, just a bit uncomfortable.
Thank you :-)

Personally I wouldn't use a hit water bottle. I still have baths just not as hot and I'm 25 weeks all fine :)

I still have hot baths just not hot enough to make me sweat. I’m 20 weeks today.

Thanks guys. Just had a bath but unfortunately not really helped. Can round ligament pain be pretty constant? Just had a look at belly and it’s a bit ‘popped out’- a bit bigger and rounder than before. I don’t know if that’s ridiculous or not.

Thanks @Jesskir89 was it sort of achey and constant rather than stabbing when you moved?

Op no I would say it was more stabby as it used to wake me up. Its probably nothing to worry about but I'm not an expert please ring your midwife or triage if you're worried x

Not sure if this is a 'thing' but I've always found I've had cramps after having a scan. Mine never last long so hoping the same for you!! You could always take paracetamol if you need to

Might be worth ringing your GP and seeing if you can drop a urine sample in for them to dip if you’ve been uncomfortable for a little while. I had a urine infection later on in pregnancy (about 28 weeks) and it felt like period pains. It might also just be from the ultrasound but ring the number on your if you’re concerned. I hope you’re more comfortable soon and congratulations on your pregnancy 😊

Thanks very much guys! I’m feeling much better today, had a manic day at work to take my mind off and not noticed any aches. Interesting re ultrasound I didn’t realise that could make me achey! Thanks for ideas re urine infection too, I’ve been keeping an eye on that as I wondered but think I’m ok since it was just one day’s discomfort. I’d definitely have called the midwife if it had continued today. Thanks everyone :-)
