Blood when I'm sick

I have suffered from quite bad sickness since 5 weeks, I am now almost 12 weeks. I have also had extremely bad acid reflux and it burns when I'm sick to the point of tears.

I was sick thismorning and I noticed in my sick was a fair amount of bright red blood! I panicked and called my GP who examined me and gave me omeprazole but said if the bleeding continues to go to A&E.

Has anyone ever had this? I'm really worried it's a stomach ulcer or something serious Sad this is all so difficult.

Oh OP, it's tough this part! I really feel for you. I had blood in my sick too when I was pregnant and in my case it was the lining of my throat being so irritated from vomiting and retching so much. It went away at about 14 weeks. That said, I agree with your doctor that you should get it checked out if it carries on. It's most likely not anything sinister but always best to be on the safe side.

@peachgreen thank you Smile it is such a hard time! I'm so happy to be pregnant but I'm looking forward to being over this part. Hopefully the omeprazole help! I've just moved house and have so much unpacking to do and two dogs to settle in so I could do without being in hospital!

This is horrible. Poor you. I had this too. Same reason as @peachgreen.

I moved house while I was pregnant too! It was tough! I can't say how it will go for you of course but if it's of any comfort, my sickness stopped at 14 weeks, the nausea passed at 16 weeks and I had a completely uncomplicated and pleasant pregnancy from there on in. Fingers crossed yours will be too.

I had this! Bright red blood is like to be from damaging your throat when you throw up, and may not be due to anything more internal.

Dark brown blood, is old blood, as indicative of intently bleeding and needs chocking out ASAP.
