Maternity allowance pay

Hi, so this might sound silly but I finally got my maternity allowance letter after a 9 week wait. Just trying to figure out when i will get my first payment? Will it be friday the 6th dec?

Is there more to the letter? I wonder if you get paid on 6th for one amount and then the rest every 2 weeks from 20th

I thought it would be the 20th at first, but reading it again because its says 'you will be then paid' makes me think the 6th. This is the full letter. Its very confusing.

Yes I think you will get a backdated payment on the 6th, then it's up to date, so your next payment will be the 20th.

Thank you, thats what I thought. I'm glad i'll be able to buy so christmas presents now and not have to save the last bit of my wages.

I don't know for sure, but I would read it that you get a lump sum first on 6th December for the period to then. You would then get payments every two weeks starting on 20th December (two weeks later).
