Alright ladies.. need some serious advice please! On October 28th I found out I was 5 weeks pregnant, and then had a confirmed miscarriage on Wednesday Oct. 30th. No period since then... I took a pregnancy test on Monday night Nov. 25th, got a very very faint positive. Tested Tuesday morning (26th) got a negative... took another test this am, (Dec 1) got a very very faint positive. So I was I’m patient and tested around lunch time with a digital, and once again negative... am I pregnant? Or are these false positives?? I’m not even sure if I ovulated or not or when I did because I didn’t track this month..
advice is greatly appreciated because that was my first ever pregnancy, and I miscarried...

Hi there, OP. We're so sorry to hear about your miscarriage.

We're just bumping this for you in hopes others who've been in a similar position will be along.

Maybe do another test in a week or so. It sounds like it is possible you could be pregnant. We'll keep everything crossed for you in the meantime.

Digital tests aren't as sensitive as others. It's quite unlikely you'd get a false positive, a false negative is much more likely. I'd wait a couple of days and get a FRER. Good luck.

I've been in this exact situation OP and the result turned a year old last month.

Long story short, I lost a 7 week pregnancy, confirmed at the hospital with falling bloods, and passed it a few days later. About 3 weeks later (after negative tests) I felt a bit sicky one evening and tested on a whim. Scans showed I'd ovulated a week after the miscarriage. The EPU at our hospital did bloods and scans and confirmed a new pregnancy. Your local unit may offer an early scan if you call them as they will want to check it is a new pregnancy and not the horribly termed 'retained products' so give them a call. Don't forget digi tests are not very sensitive.

That was my third m/c on the trot and it was terrifying but my DS is perfect.

Thank you for your replies ladies. I restarted Wednesday night with a FR rapid and got a very clear postive. Retested Thursday morning ( Dec 6th) and got a faint positive with a regular first response. I went yesterday for blood work, and my levels came back HCG-9, and Progesterone 3.2! They want me to come back in 48 hours.. but I think these numbers are way to low. My doctor says that my progesterone level indicates ovulation. Really don’t know what to think at this point...

Retested* not restarted
Regular 9.0 (positive) not -9(negative)

@Mfp17 sounds like you may need a clean out. I had this problem and ended up with a uterus infection because of retained products of conception. You don't want that happening as it can cause scarring!

Mfp17 · 06/12/2019 18:00

Clean out?!? 😳

Did you do a test after your miscarriage?

MorminMoomin · 06/12/2019 18:30

@Mfp17 after I miscarried (and bled), my hcg levels went back down and pregnancy test showed not pregnant, however thank god I went for a scan when I did. I was getting cramping from the infection and they found I had calcified retained products. I was booked in for D&C the next day and put on antibiotics.

Dunno if this is you though, just telling you my experience.

Mfp17 · 06/12/2019 19:11

@rubyroost I did not have any test done after my miscarriage..

@morminMoomin very interesting to here your story... is felt some very mild cramps thinking the onset of period, but they come and go and still no period..did you request scan? Or did your doctor? My doctor wants to wait till my 48 hour retest.

OP posts:
Mfp17 · 06/12/2019 19:15

@morminmoomin, did you have any other symptoms besides your cramping?

OP posts:
Rubyroost · 06/12/2019 19:56

To be honest if your hcg is 9 sounds like you have not quite miscarried fully. It could of course happen naturally

MorminMoomin · 06/12/2019 21:32

@Mfp17 cramping and it didn't last that long. No other symptoms except a small bleed.

Honestly, they're blending together as I've had three missed miscarriages and have had to have D&C three times. For the first I had no symptoms at all, we found out at the scan that it had died at 6 weeks.

Nhs said to keep trying so in the end we went to Dr. Shehata at Epsom miscarriage clinic and he found that I had high killer cells (over acting immune system).

I'm now 6 weeks pregnant and on Hydroxychloroquine, vitamin D3 and thyroid medication. Xx

MorminMoomin · 06/12/2019 21:43

@Mfp17 just call the early pregnancy unit directly and request an early scan because you suspect a miscarriage. They will book you in ASAP. You can bypass your gp when you suspect miscarriage. You're encouraged to call EPU (early pregnancy unit) directly.
